By the way, for you hardcore Cowboy fans...the latest rumor is that moron Jones is contemplating trading his TWO first round picks AND Marion Barber for Miami's first overall pick! Word is that Jones covets Arkansas running back, Darrin McFadden, and believes he has to have the number one pick to get the guy. Jones is an Arkansas alum, and is completely enamored with this guy! McFadden may or may not be a great player, but it usually doesn't make sense to use the number one pick in the entire draft, on a running back. Running backs can be had anywhere! I would be beyond pissed, if I were a Cowboys fan, and this trade goes down. Barber is a REALLY good player. I know Dallas doesn't start the guy, but he's a far better player than Julius Jones is, and Dallas is out of their mind to think McFadden is worth Barber and two first round picks! At this point, who knows if he's even going to be as good as Barber! Good luck to you Cowboys fans with that dope Jones, running your team into the ground! Somebody needs to step in, and save that dude from himself!

Moron or not, Darren McFadden is a stud and puts Dallas right there to win Super Bowls. They will have QB, RB, Wideouts, and a good solid D.

I think the guy is a moron but a great owner.

I'm not sure what you base Jones being a "great owner" on, Dean! I'm not sure you could find 10 Cowboy fans in the country, that would agree with you! He's a meddling owner, who NEVER allows his football people to make football decisions! He's not a great owner, AT ALL! Just because Jones spends money to get players doesn't mean he's a great owner. As for McFadden...As I said, he very well may turn into a great pro running back! Even if he does, he's isn't worth TWO first round picks and Marion Barber! I wouldn't give up two first round picks and Barber for Tomlinson! Football championships aren't won by one guy, and never have been! Ask San Diego what they've won with Tomlinson in their backfield! There have been many great running backs in NFL history who weren't even taken in the first 3 rounds (Curtis Martin and Terrell Davis come to mind)! Let us not forget that Blair Thomas was taken out of Penn State about 15 picks ahead of Emmitt Smith!!!!! Just because a guy is a stud in college doesn't mean he'll continue to be a stud player in the NFL!

Yes, he is an Arkansas alum, which is why he's being blinded by the light! As I already said, even if he is the next Tomlinson, he isn't worth two first round picks and Barber! The Dallas Cowboys are the most identifiable sports team in sports, period, including yea, the New York Yankees, Montreal Canadiens, and even the New England Patriots. He is a good owner in that he does whatever it takes(see spend) to win. He opens his checkbook when he thinks it will help him, as does Cuban, Hell, there are a lot of owners out there who stick their noses in there, Daniel Snyder, comes to mind, and you ever heard of that Gretzky guy in the desert? He sticks his nose so far, he ended up coaching the fucking club, and mind you, will probably get coach of the year, so it is possible for an owner to be involved and win. Jerruh's problem to me at least, is Wade Phillips. IMO, he isn't Head coach material at this level.

Now, Go Giants, and make this entire season go down the fucking drain for Bostonians. Yes, I despise that region of the country, however, I will gladly accept their electoral college votes in 10 months.

There's this thing called a salary cap in the NFL, where all teams pretty much spend the same amount. Some just do it more creatively than others.

Dallas would be stupid to trade Marion Barber. Julius Jones sucks and cannot be a featured back in the NFC East. But heck, I don't care...let Dallas go ahead and screw the pooch. Just makes me happier!

To answer some of your questions...I'm not sure what your point of the "America's Team" thing even is! You do realize that the Dallas Cowboys actually gave themselves that nickname, right? I assume you also realize (or at least should) that they started calling themselves "America's Team", long before Jerry Jones ever became the owner of the team? The final point I'll make is that whether or not their existence is "legendary" is probably open to debate, in other parts of the country. While I will certainly acquiesce to you that as Dean pointed out, they are a VERY identifiable team, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with Jerry Jones! The Cowboys' legend was built long before the 1990's!

As for the marketing and financial "genius" he is, I don't doubt that for a second. Most professional sports team owners aren't owners because they're intellectually challenged! Most of them are VERY savvy business people. That doesn't make him a football genius! As far as Super Bowl rings...Just off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure the Debartolo family, Rooney family and Kraft family have as many and more rings than Jerry Jones has! Jerry Jones won those three rings, because he was actually smart enough to let Jimmy Johnson run the football team! It's all been downhill, since that point!

It isn't the Patriots or the Bruins or the Red Sox, or the Celtics. It's the obnoxious people. I work with quite a few from up there, and I can tell you without question, there is no other city in the US that fosters more intolerable people than your town.
