I'm going out on a limb here....

Listening to this song on 'phones, as I type....

But, after listening to this song a bunch of times....since the mid-80s...

NO ONE can compete with these vocals.

I dare ANYone to try.

The few vocals he has on that soundtrack are all awesome.

BTW, "Daydream" sounds a lot like that stuff and would've fit right in with the rest of the music.

Well, thank you very much! :D

I was able to get this CD thru a fellow MelRocker ~ you KNOW who you are... 8)

Speaking of Mark, my Husband:

One night, I played "Sandcastles" for him....thru our massive PA System...

....and, I sang along with it....TO him....

He never heard it before....needless to say, he appeared speechless..

....and that's all I'm gonna say.
 8)

Nora, did you score?

"Little Girl" has been my fave Journey song for the past 10 years or so...now talk about unparalleled vocals...and that fade-out with the harmonica...wow.

You should whip off your top, and press those milkbags into old Marco Polos face, and damned near suffocate the sumbitch!

He will dig it, I promise.

I gotta dust this album off again.

Only listened to it twice and it is MIGHTY tough to come by (Thanks, NIG 8) ).

Yeah, I maintain that it is the most emotional Journey song ever recorded. Rips your heart out.

And your welcome, 13. I will get you that list you asked for next week. I have been downloading concerts like a mofo.

Even though Journey had already done three and a half progressive rock albums before this...

....Dream after Dream is their prog masterpiece. Interesting, considering it was right before their major commercial success.

There is only one Perry.

I like the album for what it is: A soundtrack. I think the instrumentals are unique. Dated, but in a good way. There's some really cool stuff on there. Great mood throughout and god damn it, I really miss Smitty in the mix with Neal.

There is such an elusive quality in the Dream after Dream songs...just as there is in "Winds of March", Daydream, Too Late, Still they Ride...these are the songs that pull me the most. The feeling of something intangible coupled with the strong desire to tap into "IT"...whatever that "IT" is. :) There's more of a spiritual feeling with these songs, to me. It's funny how the more commercial "Don't stop believin" didn't make as much of an impact on me...and that is the song Journey seems to be known & famous for.

The Pre-Perry albums are just dripping with that "IT" quality. :D
