after buying the 3 kissology dvd sets, i was reminder of all the old bootleg journey videos i have.
so i spent a few hours copying them last night, and wondering when journey will dip into the vault
and release something.
i know the houston escape is probably the holy grail of shows ,
but the departure tour is a close second, and at least one japan show was filmed.
and the raised on radio stuff is out there.
the soundstage stuff is interesting, and maybe they could take the nfl films stufff from
frontiers and beyond, and piece together a full concert.
and flieshman has some stuff when he sang.
it would give steve perry something to do.

I don't understand why there (appears to be) no movement on the live stuff in the vaults either. Then again, I don't know how well the Houston show sold. It's the casual fans that make up the larger numbers of purchasers for Journey material, not us, so who knows?

Even if there's an issue between Perry and the band over what material should be released, they should at least consider remastering the studio sessions as 5.1 dvd audio. I'd break open my piggy bank to get every album again in 5.1. That's a much more worthy purchase for me than digital remasters on cd (or mp3).

Is remastering the stuff that expensive?

Wouldn't we all!!!!!!

I would venture to say that if that were to happen, it would be every single one of us out there buying it. I don't know how they have kept that hidden all these years and it never got leaked. That and the Atlanta show too.

I keep hoping for some more also, ESPECIALLY ROR

Remember back in the day when all there was were tired bootleg copies of fans work? Cherished them, many kept a topic like this going on many sites. Eventually we were rewarded, so let's hope there is more to come!

I wonder if Perry discovered it was just too emotionally difficult to work on those shows. He did origianlly say that there would be an ROR DVD and I htink he mentioned a Frontiers-era DVD as well. I would like a Departure show and the ROR show.

When did he say that? He told me directly (lol! but that's true...q&a) that there were "no plans that I know of" to release anything further, and while the question was about releasing any more live shows, the question specifically mentioned ROR. That was in 06

I was all for ROR, but the more I collected, the more I realized that I'd much rather see Departure. I've been able to find astonishingly few Departure boots, which is strange considering there are (or at least were) soundboards on all of those that were recorded for Captured... where the hell are those? The ones I do have from 1980 are all audience recordings, except for the audio of the 10/10/80 show that was also filmed. They need to do a Departure one and not that Japan one - we've all seen that. Throw us something new (well, to us at least) and blow us away! Challenge extended. 8)

Actually, I think it was JDK that mentioned it.

But I agree, I would rather have a Departure DVD than Frontiers...we already have Frontiers&Beyond...

Yep. RIAA certifies music DVDs (music video longform) gold at 50k and platinum at 100k.

As of 6/16/06:

Arrival - platinum x1
GH - platinum x4
Houston - platinum x1
