Back in the late to mid 80's I scored some VHS tapes at sAFEWAY. They were on sale. I recorded MTV headbangers ball among other video's.

Tonight I was in the storage room and grabbed the box to put up the biG dancing santa that shakes his big ass hips and sings christmas tunes. I threw him in the basement the day after christmas but hadn't put the red velvet shit eatin grinnin tree porker up yet.

Anyway, I am snagging the box down off the top shelf and see some old VHS TAPES......................HELL YES,, THE MTV 198? tapes.

I put them in, Stryper (free),Poison, lita ford ( I love this woman), Warlock(woo), Kingdom Come,George Michael and Faith with his.....nevermind, dude went south. Richard Marx, David Lee roth, aerosmith, belinda carlisle, henry lee summer bwahahhaaahhaahahahah.

Dudes and dudettes, I felt the rush come over me, kinda like a near death experience, or when you take a leak. It felt good, the rush flowed to the brain, The mullets were back.
I wish you could have been there.

I used to record Headbangers Ball all the time. I have three 6 hours tapes with no duplicates and no commercials as well as 20 other ones with about 20 videos each. And then theres the 2000+ on my computer transferred from those tapes as well as "traded for" from the internet. I still keep reminding myself that MTV did actually play videos at one time on my life...

This dudette has saved many tapes just filled with hours of Headbanger's Ball from the mid eighties. Fun to look back.

yes, I need to somehow transfer mine to dvd before my video player eats them, the tracking is getting bad on some songs and I have no commercials either.

WIX, you rock! I also had a few Winger VHS tapes that I found in a sale bin at Hastings for something like $2.99 each... loved those tapes! I still have several VHS tapes of Tuff that I bought from Stevie Rachelle, and their road antics are completely out of control... haha! No WAY I'd have shared a bus with those guys...

I've got a machine and software that does this exact thing.
You can clean-up the sound, edit, add graphics, etc.
It's very handy...and kind of fun too (in a geeky way).
