Were you booted off of the previous site or did you just not post out of your own decision not to?? I must admit that after reading about so many people not being approved, it's all pretty ridiculous! I understand that Journey's position is to use their website as a promotional vehicle, for their band. That said, that's not what discussion forums should ever be for! I find the way they're running that website now to be FAR worse than it ever was before, and it sucked before! The most ridiculous part of all of this is that most people don't have just one email address, so it really wouldn't be that difficult to sign up under an unknown email address. The bottom line is that for most people it is going to be FAR too restrictive to even want to post over there!

Hey John, No I never got booted from the place. Prior to the forum dying last year, I had a few frictional posts over there, but I largely refrained from going in there and doing anything that would put CJ in a difficult position. Andrew was good enough to give me the opportunity to speak my mind here, so I saw no need to dredge it up over there.
The sad thing, and you alluded to it in your post, is that I could get in there if I really wanted to. I've got access to a while bunch of real email addresses (i.e. not free ones like yahoo or gmail) and I could spoof my IP address just as well as your everyday Suzie. However, I decided not to get involved in that, because if I posted over there, I wouldn't be picking fights...knowing that CJ has her hands full.
I still think it's sad that they didn't approve me...given my historical contributions to Journey's online presence *and* my friendship with Skylord. It just goes to show what lengths they are willing to to, in order to keep that place tighter than a ducks ass.
Like I said, it's a futile effort as I can (as others have already done so) circumvent their scrutiny procedures/approval process. I'm not a scumbag, faceless Suzie however. People know who I am and what I say is what I mean. So if I'm not going to be allowed in there and trusted to follow the rules, I have
zero use for them.
Another sad issue behind this, and this is getting into the whole subject that happened last night, is that some people have called on me to get involved and try to help resolve the issue. Even though I've seen what was posted and have partially spoken to those involved, I refuse to take a role in the process if I'm not allowed into the Journey boards. I'm not going to do CJ
*any* favors if she's not going to approve my username. I'm no patzy.
