Can't say that I'm even
remotely interested in any of the artists you mentioned with the exception of Fogerty. Glad you enjoyed the show, though.

I can't believe they gave they heroin addict/crack whore 5 grammys. That song is the most annoying song on earth!

I haven't watched the Grammy's in years and I can say that I haven't really missed much.

Thought the whole thing wasn't very good. Even the Beatles thing and I'm the biggest Beatle freak in the world. Why did Tom Hanks talk about 'The Band' and then in mid-sentence switch to The Beatles? Weird for the Band. Also, The Band as icons? Um, whatever. They had The Last Waltz... and ...????
The Beatles tribute- eh... it was okay. I did like the version of Let it Be.
By the way, Isn't anybody else sick of Alicia Keys??? She's on every show having to do with music.
As far as Whinehouse, at least she's not a rapper. I don't have that big of a problem with her. Some the the world's bests artists were drug attics. I don't think that getting Grammies condones her drug use.
Having said that, 5 Grammies? She's not THAT good...
The Foo Fighters thing looked interesting, but I crashed before they were on. I'll watch it today and see if it was as cool as it coulda been.

Same here. Sad really, twenty years ago, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
I watched about ten minutes total of it. Nice diss on Vince Gill's part, asking Kayne West if he'd ever been given a grammy by a Beatle! lol!
Amy Winehouse......scares.....me.

Yeah, I don't think the music biz has ever been in worse shape than it is today. WTF happened?

I have never been a big country fan, but I have found that I would rather listen to a country station than a popular music station nowadays. When I do listen to the radio, I usually put on the Jack station, since they mix it up and don't play much new crap at all.

Interesting how they used Chris Daughtry's music and image on the ads all week to promote the show, but snubbed him in all 4 categories he was nominated for.

Ditto - I can easily wait until the next morning to find out who won without having to spend 3 hours of my life that I'll never get back bored to tears.
Was glad to hear about the Foo Fighters winning though

I haven't watched the Grammy's in YEARS AND YEARS, but I did last night and I see a return to actual music, music of substance.
Say what you will about Amy Winehouse, but she is crazy talented and yes, she's got some problems, but her music alone is bringing back something we all need a return to rhythm and lyrics and meaning.
I'm sure people called Janis Joplin worse names than "crack whore" but her talent is still appreciated.

I think her music sucks, it's not just about her being a druggie. I just don't see anything that she has done that is worth 5 grammy awards.

Same here re: Fogerty. I would have liked to see him with Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard - that must have been great!
I would have loved to have been on the jury when Forgerty was on trial for plagiarizing
himself!

I only watched the very beginning and came away with two observations:
1. Carrie Underwood is SMOKING HOT! She is also immensely talented, even though it's not my genre of music.
2. What the hell was Alicia Keyes thinking wearing that abortion of a dress! Jesus, that thing was hideous!

I agree with you, Amy is super talented! she's weird but who cares? she's unique and its definitely fun party music, so tired
of the screamers like Foo Fighters, and rappers, ugh. Kanye is totally capitalizing on his mom's death, enough!
