Can you please expand on what "Vegas throat" is? I'm curious.
Since Vegas is in the desert, it's been a rough place for singers and entertainers since the beginning of time. The zero humidity will zap all moisture and lubrication from your vocal cords and your mucus membranes dry up. That also leaves a good potential for throat and sinus infections. People like Celine and Elton that have regular gigs there have humidifiers built into their stages and dressing rooms, etc. Touring singers typically have to do the best they can....Since Arnel will be coming from a subtropical climate, I would think it'd be extra tough to get used to for him. Not the best scenario for a DVD, especially one filmed the night after a corporate gig...Just an odd place to make a singers debut.
I remember reading somewhere that Celine actually has
weather control on the stage at the Colosseum! It's not simply a built-in humidifier,it's an entire system that keeps a constant percent of humidity and heat, plus silent ventilators in front of her that keep her throat from drying while she sings.
Sure, all this is not for the singers/bands passing through LV,but I'm sure that Journey could ask for proper conditions (humidifiers) on stage the night they'll be recording.
