Yeah, what a bizarre city. I was so glad my son didn't get accepted into UC Berkeley. Honestly, I'm not making this up - they had their quota of white males. As my son is not a minority, a woman, or confused as to his sexual orientation, they said "Sorry!'.

He's at Notre Dame instead. Which means I get to go to football games! : D

UC Berkeley is a public school and must conform to quotas.

UC Berkely is twice the school that Notre Dame is. Not trying to be mean, but it is a great school.

And fuck those recruiters. College kids are smart. if they want to go to the military, they know where the recruiting office is. They don't need to be pressured by Military Amway guys on fucking campus!

Furthermore, if you want to blast Berkeley and neighbour city San Francisco as bizarre, go for it. Hey if your kid wants to live in Indiana, where everything is so fucking ass backwards, go for it.

LOL - UC actually IS a good school - it was the Law School he was applying for. As for Indiana, Notre Dame is beautiful, but he can't stand living in Indiana as a state for the same reason you mentioned! He's got a job with a firm in SF after graduation and is firmly planted here in the Bay Area.

I figure since I grew up here, I can blast the locals, but in reality it's a great place to live.

No one's backing down over there in Berserkely. You wouldn't believe all the protesters flocking over there tonight to protest. And you wouldn't believe all the outragious claims that group has against the Marines and the U.S. Government. Just goes to show you how fucked up some people are in this world really are. I wish they'd take a plane or ship and protest the war over in the Middle East. The taliban would welcome the protestors over by using them in ballistic and sharp knife testing. The funny thing is, this type of protest draws out the real nut jobs from San Francisco in great numbers. I wouldn't be surprised of someone started blowing up shit with home made bombs and creating a riot. Whatever goes on tonight over there, glad that there is at least eight miles of water between them and where I live, I'm upwind from the area so I'm good. No doubt I will be reading about the drama over a nice stiff cup of coffee tomorrow morning.
