So what do you people use to connect to Wombat's happy home for the melodicrock homeless?

Are you a Windows guy?

Are you a Mac man?

Linux geek?

Discuss, why....and Feel free to bash the other operating systems you dont use!

I'm a computer dumb fuck, but I'm going to be buying a new one because I want to blow up the entire Dell corporation. Their computers suck ass. I'm looking at a Mac with a 24" monitor. The fucker is sweet and runs about $2,500. Any other suggestions.

I'm a Windows XP kind of girl. I haven't upgraded to Vista yet because of all of the problems I keep hearing about. Most, if not all of my clients are on Macs, so I don't want to make that switch and end up screwing things up.

I've been a dyed-in-the-wool MacAddict since 1994. The OS is stable. The computers very rarely crash. The customer service is top notch.

I use a MacBookPro - the fan was making noise. Working, but noisy. When I took it in to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store I happened to mention that the battery was shot (the computer is a little over a year old) and I needed to buy a new one.

The guy looks at the battery usage and says "No way should this battery be this low, we'll replace it under warranty." I was impressed.

Of course, with computers being computers no matter who makes them, ALWAYS get the extended warranty. ALWAYS. And max the hell out of your RAM for fantastic speed.

I use a cable modem and this thing just flies!

Once on a a Mac, you'll never go back - all those "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" commercials? BELIEVE THEM!

I run XP Media Center Edition here on my laptop and XP Professional on my office workstation. XP is great as far as I'm concerned and stable.

Mac makes a good OS but there just isn't a wide enough array of available software for them and, most of all, their commercials are extremely annoying.

I agree..once you go Mac you don't go back!...When I had a pc I rarely used it..too glichy and didn't have the patience for it....didn't get into computers until I got a Mac...easy and glich free. I have a pc laptop that I rarely even use because OSX is so much simpler and quicker to use. I dig things like Dashboard widgits too.

This is something else that's irritating but it's probably just me being anal...

Macs AND Windows computers are ALL PCs. All PC means is Personal Computer.

I use XP, Vista and Mac OSX10.4.11 (whatever stupid animal it is named after).

Mac has the superior OS, and Vista is too slow for now. I like XP a lot, but nothing compares to the Mac OS. I don't know why Microsoft can't come up with an incredible OS like that.

Unfortunately, I don't have a pic right now that says "smartass" instead of "dumbass". I'll try to find one for you, though.

I like the interface of a Mac. Several people I know have/had Macbooks and such, a little strange getting used to (trying to pull up Safari and I get iTunes) :P But all I have ever owned are laptops with Windows software. All the way back to Windows 3.1!! I hate Microsoft. Though in grade school we used to play Oregon Trail on the Apple II's (that's what they were, right?).

Great choice. My only suggestion would be to get the free download of "Bootcamp". It allows you to run both Windows and OSX on your Mac, basically giving you two computers in the same box. You can switch between them at your leisure.

Ask Apple about how to go about it.

That game was the shit... "You have dysentery, would you like to ford the river or hunt in the woods?" "Fuck... my oxen died, let's raft this sumbitch!"

Wow! What a perfectly logical and valid reason not to buy a computer.  :D

Anyone who buys anything should do so with their personal needs in mind. Do some research. Anyone on the fence should go to an apple store and ask questions of the staff. Macs can do everything a PC can do, only they're more user friendly and more stable.

I run XP at work, and I have not allowed Vista into the office yet. At home I have a desktop and a laptop running XP, another desktop running Windows Server, a laptop running Ubuntu, and a desktop running Fedora. Dig me. :D

I actually bought Oregon Trail about 3 years ago or so. That was also the last time I played it, I think.

I would always ford the river. And I would always not make it.
Broken axels, dead oxen, dysentaric (its a word!) crew members... it was old school Sims.

I like how you had to shoot the bears three times to kill them. To this day, that is still my favorite video/computer game. Running just slightly ahead of Super Mario 1, 2, and 3. I rafted the river. I always had too much shit in my wagon and little 'Pacman' was all the time catching scarlet fever. However, coolest part of the entire game... the beginning. You get to make up cool ass names like 'Pacman', 'Doodoopeepee', etc. AND then you got to go shopping! Woot!! ...I'm a tard.

iMac 24" inch is a sweet machine. I know a few peeps that have switched recently and they picked that exact model as well.

I switched to Mac 5 years ago and have never looked back.
