Would you throw the guy who did this in jail, or would you offer him an art scholarship?

Scratch that, that bird seems disproportinately big for the type of bird.

Send him to school then.

I wouldn't throw him in jail, I'd hire him to paint the rest of them. Freight trains aren't much eye candy. If he could paint up one of those rail grinding rigs, you'd have something. Those things look scary.

I'm not much of an art afficionado, but that picture is quite impressive! I can tell you that it's easily the best looking freight train car I've ever seen! If I were the "artist's" attorney, I'd argue that the freight company implicitly condoned the vandalism, err, artwork, because there is no possible way, given how long it must have taken to paint that masterpiece, that nobody saw the guy at work!

If he painted the rest of the train i could see that train becoming a local attraction(if he painted the rest of the cars with topless woman, then it would be a global attraction) Image

I know what he was going for and why he included the bird. The bird is proportional....it's in the foreground and he was using it to show scale and to distance the mountains in the background....so he had the right idea....what does look disproportional is the bird to the branch..thats where he made the mistake...the bird is too large in that respect and why the overall picture looks slightly unbalanced..he should have made the branch larger and had it coming from the right direction....another mistake he made was to center the bird...nothing should be exactly centered in a painting..it draws the viewers eyes only to that and becomes the focus other then the painting as a whole and is distracting in that aspect....one should be drawn into a piece of art and the eyes should travel over the whole..thats what should happen when the dimensions are proportional...art school would help him improve his technique but he did a good job overall.

Apparently you are not an artist and have no knowledge of it. Hopefully they won't have an art category if you ever make it on Jeopardy.  8)

I dominate Jeopardy UNTIL there is either art or British playwrights, then I am done.

 Yeah,I really love the "GA 33" on the first mountain on the left and the "GPEX 11454" adorning the vegetation.
Leave the painting for the canvas and the Sistine Chapel and let freight trains look like freight trains.
Throw him in jail.

Yeah, I wonder it the RR cleaned up that area, or the artist left the reporting marks alone. Those are important, and need to visible.

While beautiful... it wasn't his property to utilize. If I sat on his jury, I'd vote jail.

Laura...LOVE your zen btw! Liquid?
