Nobody's perfect, but you did a great job in Chile tonight. You won me over with a solid stage presence and some good vocals. I liked the rockin' setlist and can't wait to see what you guys have in store for us for the non-festival, Journey-only/headlining shows!

Count me in on the Arnel Pineda bandwagon! JOURNEY ON, brother!

I thought the last 6 notes were pretty good.

I think Arnel did a great job too. in the beginning, he was a bit shaky and out of breath, but I think its just the nerves. After a few songs, when he starts to feel comfortable, he is 10x better. I wish him luck, and hopefully wont take any of the negative comments to heart and just do the best he can. People will always be nitpicking on everything, whether he did good or sucked, there will always be something. As for me, Im satisfied :) Cant wait for the Vegas show.

Dude, are you smokin' Arnel's pole or what? Dude wasn't THAT good.

Either that or you're mainlining some really good heroine...Just don't inject it directly into the penis. I hear that's a bad idea.

The google translation of your page intimates you gave AP a favorable review for his first time and that the crowd enjoyed the show. Props on the write-up and...WELCOME BACK JOURNEY!!!

From what I've seen and heard so far, I think Arnel did a great job at the Chile concert. But yes, I am really looking forward to hearing something I've not heard yet before from Journey.

Thanks Rip! California roll isn't real sushi but I'd still have a few orders of that one. I can survive for days on that alone. A little of everything in the four basic food groups plus something really nice for the facial skin. I tell you what, that's where I've discovered the fountain of youth. That's why my face is smooth and soft and I still look like I'm in my mid-twenties. Two words....Vaginal Nutrients.

The show was awful. The only bright(er) spots were during the ballads, and even those sounded rocky.

I disagree. The show was far from awful. I don't care what anyone says, Arnel can sing, and sing well. His diction is an issue for me, as were his oooooh's and yeeah's at odd times, but, he interacted with the crowd like no other Journey singer, and seems to be able to knock out the high notes with ease. He got a little flat here and there, but the strange little dude from the Philippines was scared shitless.

Arnels first show vocally was much better than jss's. Those boots of jss's early shows prove it. Speaking purely of audio/voice quality, not showmanship here. Arnel had probs in stone in love (monitor probs) and Rubicon with the prompter. His notes were all there (accept for the end of SIL). Augeri's first show... I think I only heard a portion of that. I think I remember it was decent, but without the vocal power. With Arnel, you actually had his voice out front.

And everyone's entitled to their opinion. I still think the show was HORRIBLE.
But as far as "interacting with the crowd like no other singer has"....that's just WAAAAAY off. I forget...did you see Journey when JSS was at the mic? If you didn't...you missed a LOT of energy and interaction with the crowd.

Are you serious? Now Arnel is better than all other Journey singers? This Arnel really works the crowd better than SP or JSS. No way!

Well i'm not going to argue that it was a mistake. But Journey would of not had success with JSS any more that they will have with Arnel, so they are not in a worse position that they where before.

And he certainly did miss "most" of the high notes at all. Yeah he missed a few, but certainly not most..

Liam, this is absolutely incorrect. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE END OF STONE IN LOVE on the first night, his pitch was great. Much better than Augeri's ever was live. Jss, had problems hitting those high notes and was under the pitch a lot ON THOSE EARLY BOOTS (we're talking first shows here, right?). Arnel has more range than Augeri, more than Jss. It's a fact. As far as showmen, Augeri wasn't much of a showman. He was kind of a shy, stand there and sing guy. JSS was in your face and was great. Arnel looks like he will be more in your face if Neal let's him.

Actually...people were starting to take notice of Journey again when JSS was up front because he was mopping the floor with Def Leppard on a nightly basis. He brought the Perry loons who said "I'll never see Journey without Perry" back. He sparked interest. Now with Arnel people like me are saying "Wow...it's sad that this band is just a revolving door of lead singers to keep the 'legacy' alive". And Arnel is a sub-par singer for Journey. Plain and simple.
