Young Persons Revolt Against The Journey Moron Fans

Postby youkeepmewaiting » Sun Feb 24, 2008 12:25 pm

Welcome to the first offical YPRATJMF group meeting.

I am your leader.

Its time to strike against the oldies on this board who cant let the past go. The ones who are sitting in their arm chairs, smoking a pipe and wacking away to the Departure album saying "those were the days, those were the days, those were the days", over and over again.

So if you're a young Journey fan hop on board and lets start the revolt against the ignorance that is some fans on this board.

Talk about ignorant. Learn to spell before making a half-baked case.

It's past, not passed!
It's you're, not your!
It's board, not bored!

People aren't morons for "not letting go of the past" or not enjoying Arnel Pineda. It's all about the logic behind their thoughts (which, granted, a lot of them seem to lack).

Edit: Your punctuation was incorrect. Now are we going to sit here and correct one another's grammar all evening?

First of all, you have only been fans for 3-5 years, not 30. You don't get to hold the band as close to the heart as we do!

And THIS is me...so much for the "arm chair" reference, youngster! I can outrun any kid half my age, and I read three books a week!

What you WON'T ever get from me is any image of me from the 80's and early 90's, when I was 50 pounds lighter with hair down to my ass and wore multi-colored spandex pants with leather boots, a torn Judas Priest tour jacket, and a tank top - replete with the obligatory gold chains and 4 chest hairs! They're out there, though. If someone from my past recognizes me here, I am screwed.

Picture the ugly kid from New Kids on the Block with Screech's physique. Now add poodle hair and two ounces of hair spray. Then find the tightest pants imaginable, be they leather, spandex, or jeans. That should paint a vivid enough picture.

I haven't been accused of doing that in a long time! If you saw my face you would recoil in horror.

But it does open the door to having plenty of time to read and write. PLENTY.

OK, I guess being 19 (almost 20), I count as young in this category.

I agree that we should move on. I can understand how people would be so caught up with Perry though. He did prove himself to be quite the vocalist in Journey's heyday, and he originated the stuff they sing nowadays. Of course I would have wished I saw him. However, I am glad I can see Journey in some capacity with an able singer like Arnel.

I just hope the crap Journey has been doing for the past 2 years is officially over.

I must add I have no problem with "older people" (as this thread calls them). They sure as hell had/have a much better sense of music than most young people these days. That is precisely why I want to get into rock radio. Keep the good stuff playing, and maybe convince some people my age of it's goodness along the way.

I didn't think that until I started collecting Journey boots...Dude was the most consistent, awesome vocalist in rock. Most other singers were often out of tune, rushed, etc. He had AND delivered the goods on a nearly nightly basis.
