"Lost Angels" ~ Good GOD this woud've been a MONSTER Radio-Hit, back in the day!

Seriously:

Was "The Management" too afraid that it sounded too "Journey-esque"?

I really want to know....listen, and judge for yourselves:

I heard they weren't going to push Perry until he went back to Journey. The record company basically pulled the rug out.

That song was actually recorded for the Frontiers sessions.

Another one that should have made FTLSM too, IMO. Love this one! :D

They wanted to keep the album full of shitty songs so this one couldn't be on it. :P

Nah, FTLOSM's a decent little effort. Deeper, darker, longer than ST. Can't Stop and Friends Of Mine should have been there, but other than a surprisingly frequent # of plays (at least in the Philly market) for You Better Wait, label did put the ball on the carpet with the album.

Thanks so much for the link. Played it and love it. It's a great tune. Somehow it found it's way to a file on at my place.

Couldn't give it a listen because the file has expired. Guess I didn't get to it in time.

Yeah. great song.

I'm thinking of adding this to my upcoming album. If I do, it'll have Jeremey on vocals.

For a guy whose always looking to put the digs into SP and his fans (justified or not), Red13 does always say he likes FTLOSM, even as his compatriots loathe it.

Speaking about this FTLOSM period, even SP's bandmates in SM said Sony executives did everything they could to abort this experiment, going as far as following them from city to city, undermining and all the while trying to convince Steve to go back to Journey.

BTW, I LOVE Let Go, sounds like a Journey song.

I'm sure Andrew will assist with that. It's been a while since my last album, and I badly need to get these songs out of my system ;-)

News update about the new album soon on MR.com At least if I have time to write it and Andrew to publish it :-)

I always thought FTLOSM just sorta missed the mark. Good performances but something was missing! But not having Lost Angels on it (if it had ever been intended) only shows a continuing problem with Perry/Journey missing some great songs. Some argue that ATL and OTY should have been on Frontiers and we all agree that ICSIIYE should have been on TBF. Follow that with Never Too Late needing to be on GHenerations from the get-go. There is a history here....

I agree with everything you said here, J28. To me, everything that SP sang was great, but FTLOSM was rather tame--not enough guts and push to take you to a "higher place." ST was better. And TBF was 100% better! SP/NC/JC is the epitome for me. Sadly, for all Journey fans who can only dream about this combination, TBF appears to be the end of the road.

I'm objective about his MUSIC.

Which is by the way, more than you can say for those who bast a most everything Journey's done w/out him (except un ess they fee they have "ins" with singers not named augeri).

Too bad they didn't succeed. I guess Perry didn't mind inferior musicians, no chemistry, an average album and small unfilled venues. Mind boggling.
