Is there anyone on here, besides me, who cannot stand this new phrase, "I Mean." Goddammit, every person interviewed or asked a question on TV, be it MSNBC, CNN, ESPN or even Faux News, always responds with a yes or no, then immediately followed by, "I mean."
Watch today. I guarantee you that you will hear it over 50 times. It is almost as bad as "like"..remember how all the kids would say, "um, like" ??
Sorry, I just wish people would learn how to fucking speak.

You hear "Afaleets" starting their sentances with it all the time.

just tell me , leave your phrase out..
ill turn the channel if the female is talking low and scratchy and sounding much like choking on a chicken bone.. i was hoping that trend would die out..

Well, on joints like this, there always intellectual property cops who demand that be used.
I don't give a crap either way, you're right it's obvious.
But how many times in brawls with Pathology's Poster Child, Suzer, did people who disagree w/ her become instantly bombarded with "THAT'S YOUR OPINION!"

LOL you think I would talk like that?

I was speaking for SJ, I remember him posting something along those lines in a pet peeve thread a while back...........I thought it was funny because I tend to use "IMO" in my posts sometimes without even thinking about it.

The one I hate is on so many levels. That phrase runs rampant on MSNBC. Drives me crazy. Isnt' it enough to say it's wrong or it's right or whatever. I think we all know about the levels.

I've started to use "I mean"...even in writing. I see it all of the time now...you're right Dean. It appears to give the impression of sounding reasonable and thoughtful.
Its a bad habit...no doubt.

The problem is, if you don't do that, you've got people jumping down your throat saying things like "Well, that's just your opinion" and other obnoxious remarks. So you can't win either way.
