Who are the musicians on this release? Same as the live DVD that came out a while back?

This record is so good, it makes me want to put another band together and go bang my head and sing my ass off in a metal band!

HOW TO DO IT RIGHT AND HOW NOT TO:
Two previews of upcoming albums can be found now online - one is an artist who clearly knows what their fans want and the other seems content with churning out sub-par self indulgent material that will leave most fans turning for the back catalogue.
Whitesnake will release their new Good To Be Bad album in April via SPV and the label for a short time had a streaming link for retailers to listen to the album in full. However, that information was leaked (better than a promo CD leaking at least..) and has now been removed.
But....I took in 4 or 5 complete run throughs of the album and I must say as a long time Snake fan, I'm really impressed with the material on offer here. I now find myself really anticipating the album's release whereas previously I was more nervously awaiting it. The new material has a big punchy sound that is a credit to the band and I hear the Whitesnake of old here. After several playback's I'm really pleased to say I think the guys have got it right.
David Coverdale's voice may have worn through time, but he utilizes his strength's here. However, to my ears the star of the show is Doug Aldrich, who supplies a massive guitar sound reminiscent of his very best work along with touches of Whitesnake of past (Sykes and Vai in particular).
Very initial impressions have me thinking that the new album mixes parts Whitesnake (1987), Slip Of The Tongue and even David's collaboration with Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page on Coverdale Page. Good stuff indeed. Full review in due course...

Holy crap! The Doug Aldrich wall of guitars kicks ass for sure. What a great sounding album! Nothing sleepy here.

I've now given two complete listens to this album, and from end to end, yes...it rocks. It's hard edge, and even the ballads are in line with "Is This Love" (and there's not many ballads on it). Low point of the album for me is "Summer Rain" and High Point is "Lay Down Your Love"
It's really a return-to-form for Whitesnake...Coverdale's nailed the classic sound here...

Is this album out in the US yet? I'm adding this to my "Must have" list along with "Work of Art" and "Toto-Falling in between live". If it's out, I may pick it up today!

I hope it is a good as the 4 studio songs on their last live album. They were pretty good, but lack a bit of originality.

Song one sounds familiar to a zeppelin song in the chorus(as soon as i heard it i thought of the zeppelin song "four sticks").
song 2 didnt really get into this one
song 3 this is a pretty heavy, actually listened to it 3 times and its growing on me(again the chorus isnt what i expected which may grow on me)
song 4 "all i want all i need" ...is this love re visited his voice sounds shredded at times on this i guess this could grow on you since it sounds like their hit
Song 5, the title track has a great sound to it lots of guitars, not really fond of the chorus...good to be bad,bad to the bone, but it could grow on you otherwise this song is quite good
Song 6 'all for love is the first song that i know i would want to hear again very good even with the slight hint of kansas at :56 secs,1:15
song 7 "summer rain" good song but i'm starting to notice his voice in certain parts sounds shredded (thought i heard this in one of the first songs on the album)
Song 8 'lay down your love, another song right off the bat i'm going to want to here again very catchy and very much like what you would expect a whitesnake song to be
Song 9 "a fool in love" I don't know i dont listen to whitesnake much ..this song just sounds like an old whitesnake tune, if it isn't then it sounds a little to close to some of their old stuff...not a bad song just sounds like it was done before or at least parts were reused
Song 10 Yawn. didnt get into this one at all sounded like he was trying to be robert plant on this one(there is a lot of zeppelinism's on this cd)
Song 11 more yawn and zeppelin reference at the end of the song(actually the end of the song was the best part, probably because it reminds me of Zeppelin)
Theres a couple songs on here worth checking out, lots of guitars on here, it has its moments i thought songs 3, 5-8 were the bright ones, i thought the end of the cd was dull and the begining while it had a lot of guitars some songs were not as catchy as i'm used to hearing from this band+ there is a lot of Zeppelin used throughout this cd, brief parts here and there and some moments were slightly different but were obvious enough that you knew it was zeppelin sounding
I personally wouldn't pay for this cd but i think diehard whitesnake fans would be happy with it(it may be one of those cds you have to listen to a couple times before it sinks in)

Better than those 4....the entire album is the single best rock release in years.

I'm not sure I'd go that far...definitely better than the previous four...but depending on your definition of "years' there have been some albums that are better than this...

I love Whitesnake but I was completely underwhelmed by this release. A similar thing happened to me with Iron Maiden post Brave New World. Good to see that they have a potential hit on their hands though.
