Here is the MP3 of these tune. I think they'll release all three of these new ones as singles. The only one that will do anything will probably be After all these Years, IMO. Anyway, ENJOY!

Can someone put them somewhere where they don't limit downloads... I could only get one.

You should only have to wait one minute or two between them since the files are so small.

Again, for the most part VERY tough to hear and decipher off the early clips...

BUT I hear GIGANTIC Schon/Cain Journey urgent choruses ala RM, HP, WGW, TPIYH, FITH on Walk Away and especially WD. That Wildest Dreams chorus is flat out humungous.

Never Walk Away has to be my favorite of these two. Of course the ballad tops both, but of the two upbeat tracks this one is one that I can sit and rock out to :D

Thanks so much for sharing these! I'm impressed and I'll be definitely buying the album.
All these Youtubed new songs will sound awesome in the studio,I'm sure.

Couldn't be more excited! - Whitesnake in April with that new killer album, and then Journey in June!

Long Live Rock'n'Roll! :D

Yes...thanks for posting these E5C4P3 4 U.

For me...Never Walk Away is the outstanding track of the three....a song worthy of 80s Journey, I think...and pretty reminiscent of Be Good To Yourself.

I could tell you but sadly I think I'd be pounced on and branded a liar for my version. We just wrote the song together (Neal, Jonathan and myself) while I was there.

Hey, question! It is cool to post this song before the Cd come out? Won't it take away sales?

With how good this song is, IMO, posting the studio version of this song here, or on their website in advance should increase sales!

I won't pounce on you or brand you as anything, cap'n.

Do you think you could PM me and tell me how the song was conceived? I'd love an insight into Journey's process, so if you could tell me how the song was done, it would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks. :D

Nevertheless, its a great tune. So what if its a mix between BGTY and Never Too Late :) As long as it makes it to radio, stays in their set, and keeps the crowd rockin' I have no problem with it. BTW Jeremy, Do you get any royalties since they are using a song you co-wrote? Not trying to start a war here, just want some insight.

Cliffs Notes version is:

Neal came up with the music and demo'd the song for the band. We knocked around some arrangements and played through it a few times while I scat sang some nonsense lyrics and melodies. The "Never walk away" tag I kept coming back to stuck with Jonathan, and I wrote down some basic themes I had for the song and the chorus to leave with him. Lo and behold the next morning he had come up with most of the lyrics. I changed around a few things in his version to flow off the tongue a little better and pitched the background vocal structure to the band as well. To me Neal's demo had a 90210-ish quality to it, and the chord progression was similar to BGTY. I felt that with a different lyric theme the song was powerful enough to overcome that comparison, because it was really a feel good song in the vein of earlier material. I didn't know it would be used on the record until they finished recording with Kevin and Arnel, so that was a cool surprise...So here's hoping it's on the DVD too, so I get paid double royalties! I have 1/3 cowriting credit with Neal and Jonathan, and will get the agreed on publishing royalties.....

I wish it was a cross, but it's not. Change out the lyrics and you have BGTY. The chords, the vocal melodies and harmonies are BGTY through and through. Highly doubt you will ever hear this song and BGTY played live in the same set. It would leave the audience scratching their heads wondering why they're playing the same song twice.

If any of this stuff gets into radio rotation, I'll be shocked. Either way, if it happens at all, this track won't be the one to do it. It will be a ballad. This kind of music doesn't get airplay in today's music world. Melodic rock, unfortunately, just isn't the mainstream anymore. Can't wait to hear studio recordings of the other songs though. Hopefully they're more original along the lines of Remember Me than rehashing ROR or Frontiers hits.

That's awesome, dude. Cain really is a literary juggernaut, isn't he?

Again, congrats on writing a good (no, GREAT) song and getting it on the album! I look forward to hearing the final version.

Hopefully getting a song onto a Journey record will help your individual music get some attention. I'm happy for you dude.

One time during "Wildest Dreams" I caught myself singing "And I crash, and burn inside my mind... what I have I give to you, etc."

Just putting it out there. 8)

Well, I just think your optimism is bordering on unrealistic. I think it would be great if it happened, but I just don't see it.

Bruce commands a measure of respect that Journey never did. He's also the originating artist and that carry's a lot of weight for new material. Journey's been through two recording singers since Perry and even with Perry, the group was scorned for being too commercial. In the real world, this album will live or die at Walmart.

Regarding the new song:
I'm not looking for some far fetched change in the Journey sound. I'm looking for new original music. Nothing on Frontiers sounds like a repetition of something you'd find on Escape yet the band's signature sound is found consistent through and through. It's that way for all their albums from Raised on Radio back to Infinity.

Remember Me is just as Journey sounding a song as anything else they've done (except with weaker vocals). Is it too much to ask for new music to be original?

I'm not getting the reference because I'm going out of my way not to listen to the you tube versions of any other songs. I'm waiting for the studio tracks before I judge further. Trying to be fair overall.

That's probably the right way to go. These songs will sound much better on the professionally recorded DVD, and on CD... and who knows, maybe these aren't "final" versions of the songs?
