While it's not news that Journey will be touring with Heart and Cheap Trick this summer, it has been confirmed on the Heart official message board that Journey will be headlining:

I guess that's a no-brainer.

I heard this straight from the mouth of someone that would know over the weekend. It was the first thing I asked said person. 8) I'd like to post the colorful answer I got, but don't want to throw this person under the bus. Funny fucking answer, though.

The link for SPAC is about 1/4 of the page down when you click on Voyager''s link. I don't see the Denver show info though. Anyone else going to the Saratoga show? I'm up for some suds and shenanigans. Horse races too.

If the new CD charts for journey and has maybe two radio hits that people will want to hear..---then its a no brainer that journey closes,
as people might actually want to hear the new music??? could that actually happn in 2008???

Since the Heart management posted the announcement on Friday, March 8th that Journey would headline - I'm guessing someone from Heart went to the show in Vegas on Thursday, March 7th and said "Wow - this guy has got the goods." I could imagine hearing Neal telling Ann and Nancy, "Come check us out in Vegas and decide if we are worthy to headline." But then again the anouncement date could have just been a coincidence.

Journey sold the place out. I know that for a fact. The empty seats are the usual big shot no-shows...and there weren't many. I'd estimate 6,500 hundred people there. Had the played MGM it probably would've approached 10,000 people, something Heart can't dream of doing.

Do you remember the response when I asked "Are you guys headlining or opening for Heart this summer?"

DC was incredulous.

The rumour about Neal asking the Wilson's to Vegas was a good one and they might have indeed gone..there is a break in their schedule, but the decision to headline has been made for some time now. More bands and personnel to hate JT. Oh but sotoalltheway likes him

Dude not to nitpick or anything. But I don't think they had rubber mallets at the time of the crucifixion.

Fuckin Yulog   I don't think they had railroad spikes either. The mallet is from the Home Depot. Had no clue they were around that long.

100,000 comedians out of work and some trying to be funny. Don't you have a job?

Gee, imagine that. Who'd of thunk it?

There were actually a few people on here who thought that Heart would be the headliners.

Heart just played the Gibson Amphitheatre here in LA. The place holds 6250 people and it was packed full. Not saying they should headline. Just saying they can still pack them in. Plus they sound great.

Hee hee, he can come out early sing Crazy on You and These Dreams. The crowd would go wild and say "sh*t he sounds just like Wilson, only better" :D

I would be interested to see if they are going to offer iloveallaccess packages for this tour.
I am also curious what the prices are going to be especially considering it has been posted here that Heart's set is missing alot of hits in favor of lz covers and cheap trick is not doing alot of theirs.
I know last year one of the ilaa packages for another artist. they made us pay for liquor.
I am still not seeing larger venues taking chances in booking this with a new singer especially the 10,000 seat casinos unless they are going to not tell anyone there is a new singer.
I see this at least in this area regardless of the fact that the promoter for this area is a journey fan, it will be a smaller venue than the last few tours.
As much as people hate Poison the promoter for our area has been on radio programs and has said they book them here because they sell well. I am guessing that is part of the decision to book a tour or not.
