I feel sad when I look at that for some reason.

Hmm...the sky looks pretty dark already for the concert to be just a few hours away...maybe this was at a rehearsal the day before a show?

I have had periods in my career where I have had to travel extensively. I know there are perks to performing and I never walked into a boardroom where 20,000 people applauded me. But I can't imagine many people enjoying the road. Especially on the tours where it's city to city and no time to look around. I get very sad and isolated when I travel.

Of course, give me the choice to go on tour and I'm there baby!

I think the weed may have helped him relax when that was snapped, and also might explain his focus.

Actually, that reminds me of Diamond Dave...dude used to spend an hour on stage, hours before the show, getting a feel for it...Dave's actually a really deep guy.

This pic helps show what a tough job this is. For any singer. I'm sure he's answered it in interviews but I wonder if he ever got past the nervousness you get when you're about to perform.

WOW! That is a beautiful photo...I had never seen it before either. How amazing to capture this solitary moment on stage...juxtapose that with that shot of the packed stadium from the helicopter view. It's mind blowing. How magnetic he is...how he pulled so many people in with his talent.

He always seems so in control & at ease on stage, but I read in one interview where he said he "had to move around" 'cause if he stood still he'd get nervous. O something like that...I was really surprised to read that, but I guess that is true for a lot of performers.

I believe this pic was during/after soundcheck during the Frontiers tour.

Perry would spend time alone checking the echo/sound were present in each venue - kind of checking for "flat" spots.

Like Ginger Baker of Cream used to spend time after sound check by himself walking back and forth across the stage bouncing drum sticks off the floor - it gave him an idea of how the boards responded.
