from nick,

is there any chance steve perry or sony will put out another classic concert dvd, simialr to houston 81, i think philly 83 and a raised on radio concert were mention as being in the archives, the current journey will have the new cd and dvd this summer and after the attention for that dies out in a few months, maybe steve will want to put another vintage show out, as far as i am concerned i will get anything new and anything old with perry, but one or two more perry era shows are a must,

The ULTIMATE Journey Fan DVD Gift Set would be:
Houston 81
BOTH Philly Shows, in their entirety, from the Frontiers Tour
Mountain Aire ROR Show.
That's FOUR KILLER performances right there!!!
And hell, if they had any cameras rolling during the Departure tour,
throw one of those in there with an HSAS show for good measure 8)

I couldn't agree with you more!!!!!!

I think a lot of us would like to see him put out another classic concert dvd. My vote would be for one of my favorites, the ROR concert. Even one from his FTLOSM tour -- ANYTHING FROM HIM!!!

There's a Japanese show from the departure tour. Good one.

from nick,

on the thread below about the walmart package, someone mentioned journey doing a kissology type box set, i gotta tell you, i love kiss, love journey more, but the kissology series is incredible, i agree, how about a time box set of dvds, departure show, frontiers, and raised on radio, the timing is bad right now for this because of the new project, but sony has to know how great a box set like this would sell, i forgot the escape show from tokyo, they did songs like party's over, lay it down and a few others that are not on the houston show, please put this out

Also one from the Capital Center, Largo, Maryland for the departure tour. I like it better than the Japan one. Not quite as clear as the Japan show, but Perry interacts with the audience more on the Largo one. :) IMO, the best Journey line-up, just look at GR go on the organ, gawd I love Dixie Highway.

My top 2 choices would be the ROR Mountain Aire and the Largo, MD one cleaned up.

I say a DVD from 1973 to Perry joining. Include the Crater show from Hawaii.
A 2nd DVD of Infinity through Captured. Included Soundstage, Midnight Special and a Departure show.
A 3rd DVD Escape through TBF. Or through the Augeri era. Include an ROR show.

They had only one Philly show in 83 (June 4th) and 2 shows in 86 (Oct 14th and 15th I believe). I was at all 3 of them.

I meant the 2 big shows highlighted
at the end of the Frontiers & Beyond video.
Would that be the 2 JFK Stadium Shows in NY or NJ???

I JUST watched that. It was pretty good. Kind of dark. Wish I had a better quality version. If I had a good audio bootleg of it, I'd synch it up to the video. The video I have has TONS of his on it.

I haven't seen the Mt. Aire one before. Always wanted to.

Journey's preparing to release a new album, so you might get your wish. Seems like every time they do that, something from the classic line up is released at about the same time. Wouldn't want the new stuff to get noticed.

The '83 show in Philly was at JFK Stadium(which no longer exists) and the '86 shows in Philly were at the Spectrum. The 83 show was awesome, with Bryan Adams, John Mellencamp. Sammy Hagar and I think the Tubes. An all day event. I'll never forget it. :)

All nice thoughts, but why do I get the feeling that what we already have is all he wrote? Not complaining, just saying.

All I've seen of the Mt. Aire is the videos on the ROR documentary. Would love them to put the whole show out.

I also have the audio of that Largo show on 2 cds and I don't remember there being a his in the audio like there is in the vid. If you want I can upload it and you can play around with it....or just to listen, some great tunes at that one. Could load it up song by song on "yousendit" (maybe on the weekend) I always seem to have random problems with megaupload.

The tubes were there. That's when 'Talk to you later' was getting a lot of airplay on MTV. I keep thinking Flock of segulls was the but maybe I saw them with Blondie, I can't remember. I do remember buying 5 dollar t-shirts in the parking lot and I remember it was pretty hot and Humid but it was a great way to cap off my junior year.
