OT: Pinkenstrat
Posted: Wed Mar 19, 2008 1:02 pm"Pinkenstrat" is my most recent production... I got it free at a pawn shop about three years ago when the guy owed me fifty bucks....I'd say I more than got my fifty bucks out of it.
It's a 1982 Kramer Focus...pretty similar to what EVH used to make "Frankenstrat" - shy of the headstock... It was pink when I got it...but the fact that it's vintage, condition, and an original floyd rose were all there...I couldn't pass it up. I knew it was eventually going to get refinished...and in fact it was to become 5150 striped....but fortunately I thought better of that....
Anyway, I had it almost two years before I actually did anything with it. It took that long to get past all the people telling me it was "rare" in that pink form etc.. Sure, it's a nice guitar, but it's not rare....it's just an american strat...with an ugly color. I fixed that.
Now, I was going to put the pictures up here....but they are far too big to do that. So I posted them over at my server...in a convenient little gallery. Anyway, it's pretty well a synopsis....
