Any of you at the Vegas show notice who Deen's tech was? I seem to remember management giving Jim the cold shoulder last year.

Don't know who Deen's new tech is, but Neal also has a new one as well..his name is Adam Day and has worked with Slash.
Jim is now with Peter Frampton.

I could have sworn I overheard someone say it was a relative?

Wasn't he the one that put on his blog that Journey wouldn't
pay him after the tour?

And the way Deen was drumming last year compared this year, they shouldn't have. All kidding aside, Deen had some personal issues and is now drumming, in my opinion, the best he ever has. Keep up the good work, dude. God bless.

Tell ya what, Jim bailed Journey and Deen out several times. In fact, the first few songs of the Denver show with JSS had Jim on drums as Deen was down with 'altitude illness' or something. And Jim did a damn fine job. Still was glad to see Deen get back out there though....as sick as he obviously was!

Took the words right out of my mouth minus a few F bombs. Jim is a great dude. Anyone who has met him knows this.

I saw Jim drum in Buffalo 10/06 and I thought he did a fine job too.

Very nice guy. He got Deen's autograph for me and Angela in Tampa.

Jim is an amazingly nice and genuine guy, he lives here in Nashville where I live and has been so good to me.
Back when a number of us on BT were looking for Deen's drum instruction DVD, he went out of his way to try and find a copy for my nephew..he coudn't find one, Deen didn't have one; but he made me a copy from a copy along with a set of drumsticks...sweetest & most thoughtful guy ever.

Thanks for the info. I'm sad that Jim is gone, but not surprised. He's a great guy. He went out of his way to give my son a set of drumsticks at a show a couple of years ago. He remembered us at a show we saw him at a week later too. It's Deen's loss having him gone.

Jim played the whole set in Buffalo with JSS too because Deen was out with food poisioning.
