Prog-rock icons YES will take to the road this summer for their first North American tour in five years as the group looks forward to its 40th anniversary.
The British quintet will head out with four of the members--vocalist Jon Anderson, guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire and drummer Allan White--from its most commercially successful years on board, rounded out by Oliver Wakeman taking over on keyboards for his father, Rick Wakeman, who will be sitting out this tour.

The outing, which kicks off July 12 in Quebec City, Quebec, will hit 25 cities during its summer run. Tickets for what the band is billing as the "Close to the Edge and Back" tour will go on sale March 29.

"It feels incredible to gear up and get ready for the road," said Anderson in a press release. "It's been five years since our last tour. We're all very excited to play to all of our fans, a lot of which have been with us for almost 40 years. A lot of marriages don't even last that long."

The band released its 17th and most recent studio album, "Magnification," in 2001.

Good grief...I love this band but they looked like they were starting to slow down on their 35th anniversary DVD.

90125 was a killer album. Amazing tracks, amazing musicianship.

I would like to see them with Bill Bruford again. That dude did some great drumming on those first few Yes albums, especially "Fragile" and "Close to the Edge". Awesome drummer.

Alan White's no slouch, either, though.

Is Steve Howe going to be part of this? I would assume so, even though he's been doing the Asia thing.

Anything else think Howe looks like he should sit down in sackcloth and ashes, curse God and die? Dude looks like he's been in his 70s for about 15 years now.

I don't think anyone in Yes has been associated with Air Supply at all. That would be like the members of Metallica getting it on with Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

What year was that? Several years ago now, they did a tour where they only played their epic tunes. So most of the tunes were 8+ minutes long and they only played like 8 total tunes over an hour and half to two hours. Great show, stunning musicianship but certainly nothing that casual Yes fans or classic rock fans would be interested in.

The Masterworks Tour was in 2000, so it wasn't that one then.

How about No...Unless Trevor Rabin was involved....Trevor's the shit. 90125, Big Generator, and a couple of tracks off of 'Union'. All that other stuff is way too etherial. Maybe some of it is ok, if taken in small doses..

The Close To The Edge and Relayer tours were what drew me into theatrical production.

To stand off stage in Steve Howe World while they played Heart Of the Sunrise, and be able to still do the stops on the arpeggio sections, after not hearing that music in over 20 years was magical.

"Heart of the Sunrise" is my favorite Yes tune and probably my favorite progressive piece ever. I love the contrasts in that song. Sets the whole mood very well.

Is Chris Squire as tall as he looks? He looks like a friggin' giant compared to the other guys in that band.

I think the best Yes album is Relayer. The Gates of Delirium is an epic, I would love to see them pull this one out for this tour.

They played it on the Masterworks tour in 2000. That's the only time I've heard them do the full version, rather than just playing "Soon".
