It gave the albums an extra sheen of class.
More than that, as the band became increasingly Perry-oriented and radio friendly, it helped to have Neal's imprimatur stamped somewhere on the record - just in case there were lingering doubts as to who's band it was after all.
This is great news, I just wonder why they waited so long to do it.

I'm really looking forward to this, so far it is all good. He doesn't say it's a NS instrumental but I certainly hope so. I don't need another piano solo.

Neal never contributed an instrumental piece on a Journey record since Cain entered the band. Now, I'm not saying there is a direct link of causality, but one has to wonder.... especially given Jon's reputation.
As it is, hasn't Cain's been getting two piano solos per concert lately?

I really hope he isnt just giving a lot of bullshit.
"Best album since Escape" - this thing better be good now.
Other thing he said which Prog will no doubt love, "Progressive pieces" - interesting to see how they turn out.

You cant say anything (no one can) until we have heard it
The_Noble_Cause wrote:7 Wishes wrote:Methinks you're forgetting "Into Your Arms".
I always thought "Into Your Arms" and "With a Tear" remained instrumentals on the box set because Perry couldn't be bothered to lay down the vocals for either.

If he must whet his Hendrix whist1e (Myse1f I'd rather it be kept to Journey but...) I'd take the terrific Journey version of Voodoo Chi1d they were working out on the DeTour in '04.

Yep, I saw that. Ending the album with an instrumental? I like the sounds of that.

I know a rough version of Perry singing "With a Tear" does exist out there.
Like "Majestic" and "Departure", I'm hoping this is an instrumental in its own right, and not just an incomplete song.
