Isn't anyone else as ticked off as I am at how much Journey is charging for tickets to their upcoming tour? My entire family is made up of Journey fans. My wife and I had hoped to take our 3 kids to see their first Journey show this summer, but unfortunately I simply can't afford (justify) paying more than $100 per ticket ($250 per if I use ILAA). Looks like we'll be standing out in the lawn!!!

Look at it this way: The sound is always better in the back, rather than right in front.

I know that, if I ever decide to go (which doesn't look likely), it will certainly be the cheap seats! I see no reason to be that close to those guys ever again.

That's a great way of looking at it, Rocker Chic. I will be saving my children's eardrums!!!!

I got far back, almost to the back and off to the side for Cleveland, and it was still $60 a ticket plus fees. It does seem ridiculous. But then you look at the fact they have 3 bands on the bill, I guess it makes sense. We paid just a bit more than this to be 12th row in Vegas, but that is because they had no co-headliners.

Ticket prices in Chicago were $125 for the best seats. I would (honestly) put the breakdown at $60 for Journey, $40 for Heart, and $25 for Cheap Trick. If you look at it this way it's not too bad.

I paid $45.00 for 2nd section near the rear. Almost Lawn.

Plus the Ticketmaster gouging, it was almost $60.

I refuse to buy tickets to any concert. I have only ever bought one (Vegas, Journey, worth it) out of the hundreds of shows I've attended. I can't justify this as worthy when I've already heard the stuff. Yeah, I'd go to more shows and yeah the material and performances are killer, but for me, I plan on doing a lot of traveling this summer to the show parties. That's priorities.

No way. I love James Taylor. John Toomey is a cocksucker. All he does is go around threatening fans and screaming Fuck You! to everyone. He is actually funny. I saw him trying to score with three ugly bitches in Clearwater last year. Not one of them bit on his offer of meet n greet passes. I laughed in his face.

I've unfortunately decided to take to the lawn this year, partially because I'm unemployed and also partially because all of my deadbeat buddies can't afford anything pricier either.
I haven't even gotten my tickets yet, so I'm prayin' they'll still be available this weekend.

I've seen him...

I wouldn't buy his crap, no matter how many passes or lines he was trying to bribe me with.

Yes, some female validation. JT is as ugly as a Mr Potato Head. Fat ugly head, fucked up yellow teeth, and a forever scowl...you know that fucker isn't getting any clam, no way in Hell.

Actually, come to think of it, the parking lot party may be the place for me!

I don't need to "see" them anyway, so why the heck should I even buy a ticket! Ha, ha!

With gas prices rumored to hit $4.00 a gallon this summer and the threat of a looming full blown recession, I wonder how the high ticket prices are going to affect overall attendance...

I've wondered the same thing. I have a feeling that concert attendance nationwide is going to be down this summer. Unfortunate, because there are some good acts on tour this summer. We'll see though.
But that four-pack of lawn tickets for $75 is a killer deal. That will bring some people to the venue for sure.

I for one have only ever purchased cheap seats in my life so the idea of sitting on the grass doesn't really matter to me.
I'm an actress. *shrug* It's either cheaps seats on no seats.
That being said, StoryTeller makes an excellent point. Between the cost of gas, parking fees and convenience charges getting to the concert is almost more painful than buying a ticket.

My wife bought two tickets (fifth row...@ just $55 apiece) to see Chris Daughtry on August 24th as a surprise "for me" this past Friday. (Note that SHE is the huge Daughtry fan). The extremely messed up part of this is that I have been talking to her about the Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick show ON THIS SAME VERY DATE ever since the gig was announced (honest mistake I think...she says she forgot). I wouldn't mind seeing him, but damn...of all dates. Alas... sigh. I was a pretty good sport though and didn't act mad. I think she senses a little disappointment though as I've been getting some pretty good back rubs lately.

Tell her you have to get something out of the car and drive to the other venue, liquor her up first of course.

Dude, Live Nation is offering 4 lawn tics in Cincy for $75. Plus fees. Can't beat that.
4 friends in the car, sunglasses on, half a tank of gas and some marlboros and brews. Road trip. Just checked, 4 tics is $100.80. $15.50 + $9.70 fees.
HAHAHA... that sounds like my life almost every day. Toss in "Van Halen blaring on the stereo" and you have my biography...

i had buyers remorse for the 150.00 i spent on vh, until the show. worth it for 1 time
i got obstructed view for 50 in cincy.
seeing over 600 shows, i dont think i will pay more than 50/70 for a show unless its a reunion type show.
although not one of my faves poison go out every other year and seats are around 35.00, they draw well and promoters make money.
125.00 for the journey show is stupid.
sit on the lawn save some money for beer hang with friends, good times great music
