ELDORADO, Texas (CNN) — The teen girl whose phone call prompted the search of a polygamist ranch in Texas reported being beaten, strangled and forced into sex by the man she was “spiritually married” to when she was just 15, according an affidavit prepared by the state.

Two people have been arrested and 416 children were taken into temporary legal custody at the YFZ Ranch after the 16-year-old girl’s call last week, a police spokesman said.

A court affidavit prepared by the state’s Child Protective Services department said the girl first called a local family violence shelter on March 29 “expressing the need to leave her current living situation.” She told the shelter her parents brought her to the ranch a year ago and that she was “spiritually married to an adult male member of the church” — becoming the man’s seventh wife.

The compound is just a few miles from my house and in fact, the authorities are keeping all of the kids, along with 130 women about a block from where I work. I drove by there at lunch, very interesting, state troopers thick as thieves.

Well God forbid something happens to one of the children while in this protection
period, then all hell really will break loose.

I saw an interview this morning with a woman that broke free from this group,
she said they get you pregnant as fast as possible so you are chained for life.
You can't just leave, they torture the children of the women that want to leave...
no woman in her right mind would want to stir the pot for this reason!

:?

saw that interview too. the treatment for behavior modification was pure torture.... made me sick to hear it. what is it with these sick bastards that try and hide behind the veil of religion to live out their twisted fantasy of life? no wonder religion gets slammed- wars, abuse, neglect.... all done in the name of religious beliefs.
Until we meet again, may God
Hold you in the palm of his hand.

Dude how can they make a phone call, they don't even know what a telephone looks like. They don't even have TV and radio. These people were being deprived all their life. All they knew is to follow their freaking pastor and husband. If they dont follow they will be punished and brainwashed that they will be send in hell when they die.

What I'm saying is, the Government has there nose in everything we do. So how can they not know when something like this is going on. It took a call from the 16 year old girl before they did anything.

Wow! Thanks for the link. I can agree with the Waco thing, these people are nuts! Its just sad that this stuff goes on in our country and it seems like nothing can be done about it.

Warren sis serving a prison sentence for something similar happening in Utah, I believe. I do remember one of the girls from the compound in Utah getting out and telling of abuse and such happening. There were a few others in the sect convicted as well. But they didn't get them all.

Polygamous compounds are very hard to get into. They do close off the rest of society, so really the authorities don't know much of what goes on unless someone gets out and tells them. Some of the polygamous sects are a long gone Mormon offshoots of the main church of Mormon, who outlawed polygamy in the 1800's so Utah could be admitted into the Union.

What is so sad is that those who leave thos groups have no knowledge of how rest of society and the world work. They do get a big culture shock once out. Thankfully there is one organization in Utah which helps women who leave a polygamous relationships.

As far as I'm concerned, these "religious" compounds have their doors closed to the public eye for one reason only.... there's shit going on inside that they don't want outsiders to see. With children involved, those doors need to be kicked in. These children are defensless and no matter how they try to play it, or what religious persecution bullshit they try to hid behind, they are ENDANGERING those kids. Plain and simple. No one should be FORCED to marry or have sex, no matter what age they are. These "leaders" are nothing more than insecure little fuckwads who use fear and religion to their advantage. Lock'em all up. Then they can still have their own little compound with big walls and try to force their beliefs into people their own size, they'll be the ones forced to marry... have sex...  Oh the irony...

If kids are involved...I'm right there with ya. If adults are there (I'm gonna go with 22 and above) if you've got your kids there...you should DIE.

It does, and Warren Jeffs is in a Utah prison serving his 5 years to Life for something similar to this. I remember this quite clearly since I lived in Utah for three years.

These polygamist groups are what broke off from the Mormon Religion, as at one time that is what the Mormon religion practiced was polygamy after God told Joseph Smith that was what he was to do.

They finally quit doing it when the governement basically came down on them years ago, so now all these polygamist sects broke off claiming they are still the true Mormon Religion.

Stupid part is, the current Mormon religion, if worthy you go to the Mormon Temple with your special white garments that you must wear everyday as well under your clothes. And men can be sealed for time and eternity to as many women as they wish, with the thinking that one day in the after life they will be their own God in the Celestial Kingdom with their own Kingdom with all their wifes. So basically they are still practicing polygamy, just behind the closed doors of the temple, with their secret handshakes and secret temple names.

And no, I am not making this up. That is why many refer to the Mormon Religion as a cult.

Remember at one time a Black man could not hold the Priesthood in the mormon religion, but then they changed their minds like they have on several different things. South Park has a great video about the mormon religion you can usually find on youtube.

Although many of their prinicipals and teachings are very good, their past really makes them look BAD!

here is one video

By Utah history, The Mormon's had to outlaw polygamy in order for Utah to become a State. I am a Jack Mormon ( I smoke cigs and have an occasional drink), I am not getting married again, so I don't know about the secret polygamy. And I don't wear the garments either.

It's simple, it's like when you're eating your own food, you want different course. And when it comes to sex, different intercourse.

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Agents searching a 1,700-acre polygamist compound in West Texas found a bed in the soaring limestone temple and prosecutors believe it was used for male members to have sex with their underage wives after sect-recognized unions.

This group in San Angelo has nothing, I repeat, NOTHING to do with the modern Mormon religion. These folks broke away years ago and do their own thing. Let's not condemn Mormons as a whole based on this "cult".

A little update on this story for those interested, both of you. The child custody hearings for the 400+ kids taken from this compound started today here in San Angelo. There are TONS of satellite trucks down at the courthouse, all major news organizations, in fact, I was just talking to Ed Lavandera from CNN on the courthouse lawn down there a few minutes ago. Those of you who watch American Morning on CNN will know who he is. Anyway, it's by far the biggest story to ever hit this quiet town of 88,000 out here in the middle of the sticks.
