Wow this is cool. I was reading that there have been a ton of original 24 track leaks from different bands and found this on you tube.. Killer Queen vocal tracks...

Since my post I have located and grabbed the 24 track master of Bohemian and wow. BR is 1.3 gigs by itself consisting of 24 tracks. There are like 8 tracks of layered vocals. Holy crap it must have taken forever to record those.. No effects on anything. All dry.

Would people not go ape shit if this happened with some Journey stuff ? Hearing the tracks dry ! Perry by himself. For me hearing all the little subtle stuff that smitty does that I am sure gets buried in the mix would be a real treat.

Great stuff. Thanks for posting!

The same thing was done on the Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road documentary. Gus Dungeon (the record's engineer) fades out the music on the title track so you can only hear Elton, Dee Murray, Nigel Ollson and Davey Johnstone sing harmonies. Totally amazing.

Few voices could stand the scrutiny of being isolated like this and still sounding great. Thanks for posting this.

I miss May's guitar though! :D

Maybe the original has Freddy backing himself on some parts?

There's an isolated vocal of DLR when he was with Van Halen doing Runnin' With The Devil.

Wow, that was enlightening to hear. Make you appreciate the pieces that make the puzzle.

Like someone said earlier, not many would sound that good while isolated.

They don't make'em like Freddie....what a talent.

I absolutely LOOOOOVE close, unexpected, Jazz-type harmonies/chords/chord changes...

...and to have multi-track vox doing it??? WOW...!!

SO freakin' DIFFICULT....and he made it sound like a walk in the park.

Well having all 24 tracks is very interesting. There are many different takes and one where Freddie cracks really bad on the "leave me to die i i i i" high part at the end. On that track you could tell he was tired and at the end he says "oh, fuck it... hehe... There is a youtube video of someone that imported all 24 tracks in to a recording program and played back with certain parts soloed.. This weekend I am going to make my own 5.1 mix. Nothing drastic really just going to use it as a learning tool for mixing all those vocals and man there are a ton. There is one track that is snare only like they overdubbed the snare for some reason. Hard to say if it was used in the final mix or not.. This is so damn cool. The whole 24 track master is 1.3 gigs btw and its out there but not for the faint of heart...

i would love to hear more of this type , i remember when the beach boys released thier box set, on the bonus disc you could pan to the left channel to hear just the vocals. amazing. the classic album series on vh1 classic plays parts with just vocals.
very cool.
