What a joke this dude is...
A report at AllYourTV.com says that a "major music-oriented television channel" has proposed an idea for a reality series revolving around Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose. Sources close to the project indicated that the show would focus on the reclusive singer's efforts to complete and release the long-delayed Guns N' Roses album, Chinese Democracy. The yet-to-be-titled series would follow Rose and the other members of the current Guns lineup through behind-the-scenes rehearsal and studio footage as well as interviews.
The source said, "There is a lot of footage to choose from. Some of it is incredibly personal and revealing about Axl's life."
A deal for the series is reportedly "close, but not signed," with timing said to be a key issue. The series would be geared toward promoting the release of the new album, which still does not have a street date.
Sources at Rose's label, Geffen Records, said that a finished version of Chinese Democracy has been delivered to the company. Rose and the label, however, are still reportedly haggling over money and rights issues.
Neither Rose nor his management have commented on the reality series proposal. Rose recently announced that he and G N' R had signed with powerhouse managers Irving Azoff and Andy Gould, leading to speculation that the arrival of Chinese Democracy was imminent.

A joke indeed
I seem to remember hearing about some episode in the 80's where Axl believed he was Napoleon shortly before having to do a show...
A great frontman though, when functional that is... Seems to have been in the past.

would it not be fair to say that TV in general has become a joke.. reality TV passes me by.. the only ones i like are:
surviorman
mythbusters
dirty jobs
the court tv true crime stories
and
the people court

I like the VH1 Classic Albums shows. The one on Steely Dan's Aja was really cool.

VH-1 Classic has some great stuff on it. Have you been watching the Seven Ages of Rock? Wow...like watching an encylopedia of the history or rock. Very cool stuff and narrated by Dennis Hopper.
Yeah, I just watch the ones that interest me. Arena Rock was my favorite.

VH1 Classic is the best!
I've got the feeling that we get the shaved down version over here tho
There aren't any documentaries, except on the regular VH1. And those are mostly All Access or something horrid like that. There have been some Behind the Musics which are great, they just tend to not show bands which had/have a small following outside the US (Journey, Foreigner, etc.).
One show I really enjoyed though was the TOP 40 Least Metal Moments
Anyone seen that?

No, but I saw the Top Metal Songs. Made me realize I'm not much of a metalhead.
Those "I Love the '80's" shows are a good way to waste a Saturday afternoon.

Yeah I love those 80s shows too, great for winding down. I saw the Top 40 (I think it was) Soft Rock Songs of All Time recently, great fun. Journey was on the list with Open Arms, but weheey to low
