OT: Pennsylvania primaries?

Why is there such a big deal being made of today's primaries? Despite Obama not having enough delegates by convention-time to win it outright, unless the super delegates throw a wrench in the system and destroy the party, Obama is going to win. I really think at this point that Hillary would rather get the Presidency rather than just bow out for the sake of the Democratic party.

It's plain to see, to anyone with a political brain at all, that Obama is unable to win the General election. McCain beats him in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and New Jersey. New Jersey? Yes, that Dark blue state he cannot win(Obama)? Oh but Obama is going to be strong in Montana, Wyoming, Alabama and Mississppi! :roll:

Yeah, riiggghhht. Just because he beat HRC there doesn't mean shit. Now, HRC is beating McCain in Ohio, Pennsy, NJ and basically tied in Florida. Now tell me folks, What group of states is more likely to go blue in November, OH, PA, NJ and FL, or WY, AL, MS or MT? The Obama campaign is completey in denial. Yes he has won more states and more delegates, but who gives a shit? I'll tell you who does. The Black Democrat. Even though he has a 25% chance of beating McCain in November, and HRC has probably a 50-55% chance of winning, they would rather not change(the Superdelegates), to honour an African American. So with that, I say good. Go McCain. If it's Bomb Bomb McCain, I won't vote but will hope he beats Obama. I hope the Dems get their collective asses kicked. Fuck them. Why should I argue passionately, educate myself on issues, fight on MR like there's no tomorrow, so they can snatch a sure as fuck defeat from a should be landslide? I won't any longer. Fuck the Dems if they nominate Obama. There reason there is Super Delegates is for this very reason.

So if McCain gets in and continues the ass fucking the country is taking now, I won't blame the soccer red state moms or Karl Rove. I will blame Howard Dean, Barack Obama, and all those fucking thickheaded Supers who went blind at nomination time. If Obama truly loved his party, he would step down. They know, trust me they know the polls and they know what their fate is going to be come November. I am through supporting these pricks and basically politics as a whole has sucked the very life out of me.

they are stupid if they swing the superdelegate votes to obama and have him running against mccain.hillary has a much better chance of beating mccain than obama does and its crazy if they can't see that.no way obama beats mccain but they all have their heads buried in the sand.

So, no need to actually HAVE a general election if Obama is the nominee then ?

With that kind of logic, they need not have played last years super bowl, and just given the trophy to the Patriots, after all, that was a done deal, wasn't it ?

From my vantage point, not being able to beat Hillary in a primary is far different that a contest against a republican in the general.

People, look at the CALENDAR.....it's still April, and anything can, and probably will happen between now and November. A year ago, no one gave Obama any chance against Mrs Clinton....how'd that work out ?

Yes but once again I am struck by the fact that while so many complain...so many are also so quick to say screw it. We do not take our politics seriously...instead looking for a quick fix and placing blanket blame on problems that do not have easy solutions.

And then if things don't go the way we want...we can easily trout out the "screw it" mentality and deny any responsibility. We as a nation do this in almost aspect of our lives these days...not just politics.

McCain had better do a better job than he has so far differentiating his policies from the failed policies of GWB.......If he can't it wont matter who the Dem candidate is, he cant win.

Also, Obama seems to have most of the media in his back pocket. dont underestimate that. We are by in large a nation of sheep when it comes to Politics. If you want proof, ask 10 people who they support for president, and WHY it's really eye opening to hear the logic ( or lack thereof ) you will hear from most.

I truly do not believe enough people take the time to educate themselves anymore. Again, I'll state as a society we seem to want quick fixes. We're enamored of sound bytes and allowing the media to decide what passes for relevant.

And no matter who wins...or loses...this country will continue to produce apathetic people who find it easier to deny culpability.
