If they need help on tour.....?

Who's willing to bail them out this time....? 8)

What would the price have to be to take the job if
God forbid a vocal chord blows.....

Why would they need to be bailed out? The new singer was just hired, right? I was thinking about seeing this tour. On paper this is a good package with Journey and Cheap Trick and Heart. The tickets are too much though. Concert going has become a wallet drainer. :? I hope Triumph plays near me and is not too pricey. Wish I made more money to see all the good shows. :)

Man...you're ALL ABOUT Triumph. You Canadian? j/k
BTW...Rush/Triumph would be an AWESOME show. 3 Hours for each, of course. :-)

Agreed. Having just seen Emmett last year I can honestly say I was very impressed with his guitar and vocal skills. The dude rocked.

Rik is very versatile. Can play almost anything. Yes I am being a homer, but I am a fan and make no apologies for it. Glad you enjoyed his show!!!!!! :D

Emmett is solid, but by no means one of the best ever. Lifeson is phenomenal, I don't see how anyone could doubt his abilities.

Yeah, the lead singing capabilities certainly give Rik a few extra points.

I like Triumph and love Rush. I've only recently began listening to Triumph though, so maybe I haven't fully "gotten" them yet. It DID take me three years to finally "get" Rush and now they're my favorite band.

Any word on perhaps a new Triumph record along with their reunion?

No word on a new CD, but I am hopeful.

This was their final single before Rik left the band. Video is a little silly, but the song was great: Never Say Never! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1TauvXME24

Sorry dude. The armpit of the US.

And to Frank: Lifeson's not a "Lifeless" guitar player. Simplified in some areas, yes...but his chord structures on some songs on, let's say Vapor Trails, is OUTSTANDING. I STILL find something new when I listen to that album. Not to mention some of his solos on other albums/songs...crisp, clean, and smooth. VERY underrated guitarist. But like others here...I'd have to agree with Rik being a BIT better because he sings as well. :-)

Haddon Heights, just outside of Camden, NJ. We moved when I was a kid. I am still a Canadian at heart though.

How is this for a vocal performance with no tricks. Just raw with an acoustic guitar:

I just did a back-to-back-to-back listening of Triumph albums (Allied Forces, Never Surrender, Thunder Seven) for the first time in awhile.

...They're warming up to me a little more every time. Haha.

Saw Triumph and April Wine a few times back in the day. :)

Try backing up and hit Just A Game ! My favorite Triumph album. Progressions of POwer as well. Ok, but not Just or Allied.

I just found my "Just A Game" record a few days ago and it's scratched to all hell. FUCK. Great album too.
The Gatefold is cool as well. :-)

My best friend at the time and I hitchiked from the bay area to San Bernadino (Devour, actually) to go to the US Festival. Totally unreal experience to be in a literal sea of people. Triumph went on a around 1pm and we were about as in the middle of the crowd as you could get and you could look in any direction and not see the end of it. roughly 500,000 people!

From the looks of the USFest clips, looks like it was a great time. Amazing crowd there.

Here's never surrender. Love Emmett's double necked guitar.

Most definitely was. We were there for 2 of the 3 days - had no interest in Country Day (the 3rd day). 1st day was New Wave day, can't remember all of 'em but Stray Cats, Berlin, U2, Clash, Missing Persons. But Rock day was unbelievable. Quiet Riot went on stage at 10:30am and Van Halen went on at about 11:00pm. between them were Motley Crue, Triumph, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Scorpions (Anyone who was there will tell you they stole the show!!).Joe Walsh was supposed to play but didn't show. The only thing that sucked about it was the toilet situation. There were about 30 Portapotty's for half a million people. You do the math :d

I am so stoked about the possibility of getting to see Triumph live! Never got to see them and have kicked myself in the ass for it to this day. Have been a fan of theirs as well as Rik's solo endeavors for many years. Hell, I'm even a fan of his columns in Guitar Player!

Heck, if Journey needs help on tour just throw Emmett up there on stage.

Imagine him singing with the Journey guys while exchanging licks and solos with Neal. That'd be amazing.
