YAY.

And to think I was actually going to go do something useful, like practice bass or write songs or mow down civilians in GTA....

...but MR will do for now. :D

How is that game by the way? Are you talking about GTA IV? I've heard good things...

Talk to me again this weekend and it will be GTA IV. I'll be playing it at a friend's house in a few days.

I've been playing 3, VC, and SA. I can't personally justifying paying as much for an XBOX 360 and its supplies, as I would for a used car.

Total up the system, controllers, headset, online, multiple games... that's a lot of cash money.

It was getting rough.. but we got our 'Economic Stimulus Payment' Tuesday morning..so that helped fill the withdrawls.
Due to the fact that we did our Federal return via direct deposit and the last two digits of my social securtiy number..we were one of the 800,000 that were going to get it early over Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Not bad considering that it wasn't supposed to start until Friday and only 800,000 over three days were going to get it early.
After all the confusion that was going on when this first started..just glad to have it done and safely in the bank..for now..

Actually sort of funny you should say that..being that I am on a very old computer..and on dial up.. imagine how even more slow this site has been for ME! J/K..there are a lot more things going on to be concerned about than getting upset at how slow it's been here or not being able to get on..but seriously..I will most likely be getting a new computer and getting off dial up. It really has never been a big deal as I really don't use the computer much online except for tons of emailing and visiting a few sites.
I'm just still not sure what to go with..here so many different things about DSL, Comcast, etc..not sure which one to go with when we do.. :?

Well for your purposes, if DSL is cheaper, then that's what I would do. Deb and I have gone strictly to cell phones, so going to DSL would require installing a land line phone again. I'm on Time Warner cable, which used to be Comcast here, and the service is terrible. When it was Comcast it was pretty good though. I used DSL for a year and never had a hiccup.

As far as computers go, RAM is king. With Vista as an operating system, you need as much RAM as possible. 3GB if you can or more. If you go with a Mac, then there are others here who could be of more help than me.

Yeah..that's one thing I do know..Ram, Ram, Ram..I already have a land line with being on dial up..so I wouldn't have to do that if I chose something else that required that.
The only thing is..aren't there tons of complains about Vista..or is the 'better' version out yet?

Service Pack 1 is out, what came with it, I don't know. I still use XP. You can still get pc's with XP on them but you're going to have to go the Vista way eventually, so you might as well do it now. Vista has had many complaints, but the issues are being ironed out all the time. My older brother just bought a computer with Vista on it, and they've had zero problems. So that's good because there's not a computer savvy person in that house.
