OT - Def Leppard Performances

Ok, so Def Leppard performed on Dancing with the Stars last night, and everyone is complaining about how they played to the original track instead of doing it live.

I don't see what the big deal is, from what I've heard most bands do the same thing on that particular show. They did a live show on Ellen, so I'm not sure why some fans are so "outraged".

Some have even resorted to complaining about the fact that they appeared on the show! They say that its too cheesy of a show for the band.

I'm sorry, but if you are angry at one of your favorite bands for trying to promote their new material on national television, you need to count to 10 and be thankful that Def Leppard is still touring and making new material!

On another note, do we have any idea who will be joining the band for their August tour of the United States?? Andrew? :D

I saw the Ellen performance of "Hysteria"...Joe sounds a bit rough, doesn't he? Like he's got a cinderblock stuck in his throat....

But, as I did w/ Don Dokken, I chalk it up to touring for nearly 30 years with a working Rock band...it'll wreck anyone, especially when they spent the first 15 years of it singing well over their natural range...

Yeah he does sound rougher than he used to. Unfortunately both Joe and Don are smokers, so that's not helping their situations!

Joe sounds like crap without backup help, tracks, digital enhancements, etc. Sounded just as bad or worse on Jimmy Kimmel. ugh... Poor Joe. The band rocks though...

It's possible Don may have quit smoking... hopefully he's still on the wagon as well.

As for singers smoking... umm... career killer, guys?

Actually Joe has had an chest/throat infection and several shows had to be canceled about 2 weeks ago. He is now taking some needed rest, but was still not feeling well for Ellen and Kimmel.

I just saw them last Saturday, just a couple shows removed from their cancellations, and I thought he sounded good.
