JSS - Opened the Door

This is the version of Opened the Door by Jeff I heard on YouTube, and I thought he really butchered it despite the scratchiness, yet, some of you all have crowed about his performance of this song... Is there another video out there that I can listen to where you all said he "kicked ass" on this song (one of my very favorite songs)? I've been meaning to ask about this for a long time...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9jA8a_iaf4

I hope Neal considers playing it this summer along with some of those other great rockers...

He got off key once, but I think he did a great job on that one.

Funny how 2 people can hear 2 different things. Here's a great version of Opened The Door from London March07. I love this version, sings it with feeling. http://download.yousendit.com/7F89E4B167C4CFE3

He sang it at the HOB in Orlando too, we were there for that & thought it was great live. Have no clue if there's any video of it though, but to me it sounded great while we were there.

Thanks Deb, that's a beautiful song. Not to derail the thread, but I'm curious about Eric Martin since you mention him a lot. Can you post your favorite song by him please?

I don't see how you can make any kind of determination based on the sound in that video :? . The version Deb posted is much clearer and I thought he did just fine with it. To each his own, though.

The vocals on that recording can't be heard for squat. What I can hear doesn't sound all that great.

Agreed; I really appreciated hearing OTD and Winds of March & thought Jeff did a fine job on both; seemed like a tip of the hat to serious fans who get weary of the DD

Gawd, I so agree with you there, especially on DOA! That song hasn't seen passion like that since Perry. Loved it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwNIIkd7yLw Love JSS and Deen's interaction on that one. :)

Sorry if that was a dumb question. Still hoping for a Triumph forum to post in. Everyone posts here though, and I know only a bit about Journey. So if I don't know something that is obvious, please bear with me.

Not a dumb question at all. I don't think JSS even knows the exact reason.....besides the blanket public statement. He didn't even find out he was let go by the band/management. He heard it from a peer first.

Andrew, there's nothing to let go; this has not been debated before. Thanks for the link to the other video--I plan to listen to it later on tonight!! Dean, you lost credibility quite a while ago so your fuck you's, and dickbreaths, or twats or whatever don't mean a damn thing. Why Andrew didn't scold you for "twat" and ban St. John for a similar word is kind of weird. I wonder why?

You are a trouble maker. Subtle...but trouble nevertheless.

So please....do shut up.

And Dean has been given on a holiday, so he cannot defend himself. I expect no further mention of him from you.

You only started this thread to cause trouble and you succeeded....but one of these days YOU will be the one who's sent on a vacation with a one way ticket in your hand.twat..
