I love how what happened hasn't changed JSS one iota! Still "brings it" with gusto on those Journey songs! :D

JSS with Scrap Metal singing Don't Stop Believin, Separate Ways and Another One Bites The Dust at Mohegan Sun last weekend.

Jeff is the best. PERIOD.

Don't bother ripping on me for it. I like the way he sings, I like the energy, I LIKE that he is different that Perry on Journey songs.

I know I'm gonna get ripped for saying this but here goes. Why is he still singing Journey songs? After all that's passed, I'd rather he focus on his own stuff. He's just promoting their music when he does it.

Yes I know he has every right to since he was their lead. Don't get me wrong, he sings them well but that's not the point.

His Queen covers are another thing, he does them better than Rodgers.

IMHO him singing DSB just helps to keep it in the national consciousness. He does a good job, although I like the direction Journey took and will continue to support it as it comes through my neck of the woods.

JSS fan here, but I kind of agree. Between his solo career, Talisman, Soul SirkUS, and his many other projects JSS has enough original material to rock peoples' faces with.

The average hammered drunk in a karaoke bar does Queen material better than Rodgers!

What I meant was he's not bitter, the experience hasn't changed him. He's still a fan of Journey's music. He was singing it before Journey and he's singing it after. His own shows are chock full of his solo/Talisman etc. material. This was a performance with Scrap Metal........80s hits.

I think it's classy and cool that he played the Journey songs. 8)

Why would scrap metal and JSS need to do Journey covers? There is more than enough good original material from the band members that they do not need to do Journey covers. Weird ...

Without starting a shit storm here, what original 80's "sing along" tunes could Jeff possibly play? That's pretty much Scrap Metal's theme...80's (and some early 90's) "sing along" tunes.

Exactly!

I saw him tear it up with Metal Skool in LA October 07 too...3 tracks that brough the house down.

That's it exactly. Rock the house. I know a lot of fans want to hear Journey and he's giving it to them. That's cool, but to me it's a step back for him now. Nothing to do with bitterness or what was but more of promoting himself apart from the Journey tunes.

Sort of like Chalfant cutting a Journey covers album. Put that energy into original stuff. Just my opinion.

In all fairness, if you were at Mohegan last weekend, then you caught his "This goes out to my former bandmates" at the intro to Separate Ways....so he got his dig in hehe. I thought it was pretty funny, and then he rocked it better than it ever could hope to be on this current tour :P

Jeff is obviously a great singer. I love his passion and energy. So many bands just stand there and go through the motions. This must have been a fun evening.

I'm not trying to stir the shit either ... and fair enough. I thought Believe in Me would be one that would fit their show well. Maybe it's not as well known outside of this circle.
