So what have you been spinning tonight?

Today so far (other than shuffled songs):

Muse- Black Holes & Revelations. This epic, over-the-top snowballing of pop, pomp, prog, power, and politics is amazing. Must be heard to believed... Highly recommended record to all.

The Replacements- Let it Be. Better than the Beatles' Let it Be, well in my opinion. Very good alt-rock from the 80s, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone here. I love it though.

I think next I'm going to hit up some Bryan Adams, or maybe another run-through of Stone of Sisyphus (thanks Rick!). Maybe check out that Nine Inch Nails that was just put out.

Hopefully within the next week or two I'll have bought/ordered the new Asia, Whitesnake, Dokken, Adams, and Def Leppard material.

What about you guys, what's been bumpin' tonight?

Let's See:

Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance
Whitesnake - Good to be Bad
Threshold - Subsurface
Gotthard - Lipservice

All Great CD's!

I'm in my heavy mode tonight.

I ended up on a Replacements kick so I'm hitting up Tim, before I hit up bed.

Only album you listed that I have, JrnyScarab, is Lipservice.... and it's very good, which is to be expected from Gotthard!

Yeah, I have Domino Effect by them as well. Also excellent. VERY underrated band with no publicity over here. The music scene in the US is very sad.

Man, I hate posting on the East Coast. I just get going for the night and have to go to bed. Then everyone else chimes in!.

Thank God for bands like Airbourne, Muse, Wolfmother, The Killers, The Answer, Porcupine Tree, and the like. They're all either already in the mainstream or beginning to break through. All very good, amazing bands.

....Upon a quick inspection, actually, only one of them is American... LOL... but they are getting popular over here though.

Don't know Airbourne. Love Muse & Porcupine Tree, only heard a little of the Killers and Wolfmother. I'm going to the Progressive Nation show in 2 weeks. Dream Theater, Opeth, Between the Buried and Me and a band called "3". Pretty heavy lineup except "3" aren't too heavy. Taking my 17 yr old son. Gonna hit the meet & greet at Daddy's Junky Music with Mike Portnoy!

NICE! Should be a brutal show dude. Have fun, I hear Portnoy's a hoot! I saw 3 when they opened for Porcupine Tree last year. I thought about seeing that tour in Columbus but I only really like Dream Theater out of that lineup, and don't really care to sit through all the others. I'd rather catch a longer set from DT during one of their solo tours.

I've been listening to Eden's Curse self-titled debut album. Very good harder melodic rock, if that's what you're interested in.

You just posted half of my highschool soundtrack right there, that is awesome. I just got back from jogging around Silverlake listening to Mike and the Mechanics, Adam and the Ants and Breathe.

No kidding! Very nice. I'll add that to my must-buy list. I've had their first album for a few months now, but I keep coming back to it and it sounds as fresh as ever. Great stuff.

The only thing that "opens" for Leppard anymore are fat, overweight, middle-aged women.
