I know it's pretty corny and I'm certainly too old for this, but it's still fun to hear new stuff that you want to hear on the radio. So for those around Chicago the Bird will be playing new Journey after 10:00 pm tonight.

Hey, the loop is the same format as a lot of other stations:

12 hours of Zep
8 hours of AC/DC followed by
2 hours of Pink Floyd with a little
DL and Metalica thown in.

But every so often they surprise you.

I hear ya. I couldn't make it play either which is why I didn't post it. The Bone in SFO is playing both songs released quite a bit and they certainly honor requests. I know this one works. Also, that Wave station in Virginia same thing.

It's kind of exciting when it's your radio station (not Journey friendly) playing the new music.

Time to go listen to radio.

Just listened to it. VERY nice words about Arnel. Called him "the new front man with the old sound." However, Kevin Shirley strikes again. Drums sound flat and are hardly audible til the end of the song and the background vocals sound really far away. This song was much better live.

Yeah, I picked up on those two things during the YouTube videos of the radio streams of the songs. But I attributed it to the fact that I was listening to a radio stream playing on YouTube. Maybe once I can get a good listen straight from the CD on good speakers it'll sound a little better.

I lifted this from Argus...

"Please remember that Radio clips might be different than what you will hear on the cd in your own home. They compress and boost the mix for radio."

You do know you can order the MP3's from Walmart and get NWA and AATY now on download?

I know...but that's still compressed compared to what you'll hear on the CD. I'm waiting to actually put the CD in my home stereo. Plus, I actually want the hard copy of the album, not just the digital files.

I'm a sucker. I'm getting both. I couldn't wait on the CD. They both still sound great.

Nah, it's just time for you to update your radio, SJ.

It wasn't tragic at all... but without the novelty factor of it being a new Journey song, I doubt I would've given it the full listen.
Much better live in Vegas. But then again, most songs are better live, IMO. Still can't wait to get the new album.
All of my favorite songs or songs that I like start out as songs I detest and then grow on me. Not horrendous, but it didn't floor me either. :)

He's the worst.

Wish Elson had been behind the board again.

They're giving away tickets for the show as well. I've heard promos for that almost every time I flip by the Loop.

Thanks for letting me know! I already have tickets, but could certainly use an upgrade!

The pre-party for this show is going to be fucking epic. I have a few ideas I'm tossing around with friends already.

The sad thing is that I won't be able to party at all! I'm such an idiot that I signed up for the Walter Payton cancer run that takes place the next morning! I'm running the race that is Walter's total rushing yards, which is about 9.5 miles. I'll be lucky to cross the finish line without a hangover, so NO drinking for me the day before. I'm also probably taking my daughter to the show, so there would be no drinking for me anyways!
