RANCHO MIRAGE, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- This Friday and Saturday night, award-winning songwriter and keyboardist for the legendary rock band Journey will perform live at The Lounge at Agua Caliente Casino • Resort • Spa in Rancho Mirage.

Journey band member Jonathan Cain will play Journey favorites with the casino's popular house band, Mischief, which is led by Cain's brother Tommy "Mugs" Cain.

Mischief is comprised of six talented musicians whose personalities are as lively as their backgrounds are diverse. Separately, they have performed with the likes of Christina Aguilera, Terri Nunn of Berlin, Van Halen's Sammy Hagar, the Divinyls and Paulina Rubio; entertained the masses in Broadway productions including Sunset Boulevard; and written music for feature films and network television! Together, they are a Coachella Valley first in entertainment!

Mischief plays three shows every Thursday through Saturday night, featuring a variety of Standards, Hits from the 70s & 80s and the best current rock and pop. Their appearance with Jonathan Cain is highly anticipated!

Jonathan Cain not only gained notoriety as part of the band Journey, but he is also an accomplished musician and songwriter in his own right. He has received two of the most prestigious BMI songwriter awards - "Most Performed Song of the Year," for over two million or more radio plays with songs "Open Arms" and "Who's Cryin' Now." Journey's "Greatest Hits" received the "Diamond Award" for sales of ten million and the band has sold 60 million albums with a string of top ten singles accounting for over two decades of music played on the radio.

As a songwriter, Cain has written songs recorded by Michael Bolton, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Rogers, the band Heart, Greg Allman, Conway Twitty, The Oak Ridge Boys, Colin Raye, Lorrie Morgan, Maria Carey, Australian singer Jimmy Barnes and Peter Frampton. As a producer he's worked with Michael Bolton, Journey's guitarist Neal Schon and most recently wrote and co-wrote most of the songs on the new Journey CD "Generations". He's also produced seven of his own solo albums - "Back To The Innocence" and "Anthology", his debut albums as a singer songwriter, 'Piano with a View", "Body Language", "For A Lifetime", "Namaste", "Animated Movie Love Songs" and most recently "Bare Bones", which are all instrumental piano albums of smooth jazz and new age genre.

Journey will release its new album "Revelation" June 3rd, following it up with a hot summer tour ticket that also includes Heart and Cheap Trick. The tour kicks off July 9th in Denver, Colorado.

His attire really doesnt fit with the other guys IMO. At the chile show he looked like he came from a wedding reception and his body language is always so awkward to me while he is playing. Not a Cain fan.

But can you see him in a pink tux and white shirt?

The lounge lizard look.

So if they're on a little hiatus before the tour is Neal playing anywhere solo?

Ya know, this is what I never understood about Perry's 'retirement'.
Not picking a fight or baiting, but why couldn't Perry ever do things like this?
Doesn't matter what band your in or not in, just do some quick-hitters every so often.
Also, I've often thought that NS should have a solo Piranha Blues act where he just hits a festival or a bar somewhere.

???

later~

Mischief is going to need more than Jonathan Cain to help them. I was walking by the lounge and thought I heard them singing Iron Man, it turned out be Head over heels by the Gogos.
