All the publicity from being on T.V. last week seems to have helped them a lot.

Bravo for the Leps!

Seriously, it is great to see a "classic" rock band in the top ten with original music.

Rush's "Snakes & Arrows" debuted at #1 or #2 last year.

#3 it was. I'm heading to Rush in a couple weeks - third row! I'm very excited! :D :D

Been giving this record a listen, and it's really damn good. YES RWF, I'm finding time to listen to it! Not from Blockbuster. (Inside joke, sort of.)

Toldja.

1st marketing guy. "How can we make DL (aging rockers) relevant and notieceable to the general public?"

2nd guy: "Hell, just git yoself a country crooner that the ladies like and put him on there. Or a rapper."

"Let's see, its either Billy Ray Cyrus, Tim McGraw or Kanye West."

1st guy: "Great idea! Let's go with McGraw and put him in some leathers!"

Oh, and have DL on Dancing With The Stars, its the new American Bandstand, and it rocks!

Another favorable review for the new Def Leppard album over here.

This appeals to me greatly. Favorite song on here is "GO."

I hope so. I did something the other day that I almost never do and bought without hearing so much as a note.
Haven't spun it yet... But all told its a good one, so I took a shot. 8)

They go for everything on this record. They give you their old sound and new sound and except for maybe 1 track, I think it was really good. I love the first track called "Go". Let me know what you think.

"Go" is one of the best Def Leppard songs ever.

Sick, heavy tune. My friends all love it too.

When Nine Lives was first released to radio I listened to it and loved it. Now that I've heard the entire album I feel like it's one of the weaker songs on it. There are easily at least four songs I would rank higher than Nine Lives.

Agree. I bought it today. Well impressed by the Lep!

it's funny...I'm a big Lep fan, and I'm not sure what album you guys are listening to.

Three memorable songs, to me, total. Love, Nine Lives and Come Undone - that's it. The rest is filler or bad, especially C'mon C'mon.

Very, VERY disappointed.

Hey Big J....this is how differences work: I cannot get into "Love" at all and yet you list it as one of only 3 memorable tunes.

I am actually enjoying the CD so far, but it is very fresh still. We'll see how it holds up after a few weeks!

Can you tell Savage is the biggest Queen fan of the bunch when you listen to "Love"? :D
The catchiest tune for me is "Tomorrow" great chorus and a perfect Leppard bridge. :D

I LOVE "Love"!! And I'm not usually a fan of ballads.

Tomorrow really sounds like a Miley Cyrus song to me.....I can't put my finger on which one though. (although i really like the song)

The only song so far that I'm not too crazy about is Bad Actress.

I'm thankful I have no idea what you're talking about. :D

Ah, I like it cuz it's an ode to worthless young Hollywood! "What's a girl like you doing in a nice place like this?"

OK let me throw the cold water...

What's the sales figure on a #5? 60,000???? 75K?

I'm betting it ain't that high...still, though, nice to see someone without "lil" or "MC" in their name in the top 10!

I'm going to have to check this out, I was undecided but I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I believe they sold 56,000. Not that high, but like you said - it's nice to see someone like Def Leppard in the top 10.

With those figures that the Leps put up in week one, anybody think Revelation is a guarantee to be in the top 10? I think they should easily be able to surpass 56,000 sales.

Just like TBF, they shipped #2. Doesn't mean they sold a million or whatever that much initially. So with the WM deal, Journey will easily ship over 56k units, putting them near top of some charts. And with WM's proliferation WM will sell a bunch of units. But does it really mean that 'Journey' sold that much on their own? Very arguable.

later~

Looks like #26 with 12,000 extra units sold 2nd week.

Kinda puts some perspective on the sheer power of the Eagles, in comparison to these 80's bands.

The Eagles never teased their hair, painted thier faces or "wiggled their bums" (as Phil Collins put it)...nor did they write songs about pouring sugar on oneself...that alone gives them critical credibility....that and all the amazing f'ing songs they wrote...

I've been told that the album has 2, maybe 3, good songs, and that the remainder of the album is about as exciting as finding out that your sister is dating Mike Tyson.
