Chris Carter is dead to me! That bastard jerked me around for NINE years, in the hopes of some kind of great revelation at the end. What I got was a lame, two hour wrap up that answered absolutley NOTHING and left me with more questions , and more CONFUSED than ever! Fuck the X FILES!

...and yeah, I'll probably be there opening weekend...

This does bring up a very valid point, and that is my criticism over what I call "never-ending conspiracy" shows -- those shows where the mystery and conspiracy continues to grow and grow over the lifetime of the series, usually interspersed with stand-alone episodes that offer a little buffer in-between. They consistently leave you feeling jerked around, and never in touch with whatever pot of knowledge gold is to be found at the end.

That's one reason I was never a huge fan of this show... I did enjoy watching many episodes, but tried to avoid all the ones that carried on the main overwhelming plot line. And notice how they've marketed the DVDs by grouping them into topics, rather than seasons, such as the "Black Oil" episodes, etc. Some other series have done this too.

But I'll still see the movie... haha!

I LOVE the X-Files but I got SO tired of the conspiracy plot. I prefer the stand-alone episodes and am really excited that this movie is like a BIG stand-alone! Can't wait!!

Any truth to the rumor that Frank Black from the X-Files spin-off Millenium will be in this?

I read that on AINTITCOOLNEWS about a year ago, so I'm going with yes....

I never really understood where the conspiracy stuff all stood -- wasn't it such that at either the end of the series, or the end of the first movie, the aliens were poised to take over? Like, the invasion was imminent? I wonder how this will address all that...

Just saw a comment from a panel interview from last month, and Chris Carter say no...

However, they say there is a "steamy" love scene with Scully and Mulder! That is, if they aren't lying...

Weird...I coulda sworn Aint it Cool was touting that as Gospel a while back, and they're usually dead on. Perhaps it's a "Sam Jackson" like secret cameo???

Anyhoo- you had me at "steamy love scene" with Gillian Anderson!!!! To paraphrase Homer Simpson "Mmmmmmmmmm....Sculley...."

Speaking of which, I've seen Iron Man twice now, and each time about 95% of the audience leaves before the scene -- I know much better than to ever leave before the credits are completely done, especially for these types of films... :)
