With all the discussion of Megan Fox' new photos I got to thinking. And I can only imagine the direction this thread may take. But I am honestly looking for opinions and insight from both sexes!





Why is the female nipple so "dangerous"?

We can see full breast EXCEPT for nipple on network TV.
We can see plunging necklines or bottom breast cleavage.

Why can't we see the nipple?

We can see MALE nipples.

What is the difference?

Is it purely because women's nipples can lactate and support life? Why would that have anything to do with it?

I was under the impression it has to do with sexuality. But both female AND male nipples are erogeneous zones, sensitive and used to give pleasure. So why the double standard between male nipples and female nipples? Especially when we can see the REST of the breast.

The other "privates" are not allowed because of their functions of relieving waste. Apparantly anything to do with those functions (words OR pictures) is the final taboo.

But what is the deal with the female nipple?

Not only can they not be shown bare - they can't even be shown under clothes.... I never understood is why nips get airbrushed/cloned out in catalogs, lingirie ads, etc. They even do that on the Playboy covers, of all things. But especially confusing is things like underwear ads. You're selling bras, which were made for breasts, which include nips.
They don't airbrush off the guys' packages in those ads. You are ALLOWED to see penii through the underwear, but not nips through a bra/bikini.

We know the nips are there, and they're covered by a bra/top/bikini anyway, so what's the bfd?

Personally, I want to see 'em. How do I know if I want the damn bra if I can't assess nipple visibility? Unfair.

But in all fairness, do you really want to see these puppies uncovered?????

And do you know why? Because they are considered taboo by the establishment. If we were more open about the human body there would be less problems. Look at Europe. Nude beaches, nudity on network TV, it is all "no biggie"...and they have less sex crimes than the US does.

Of course, it would not change overnight. It is just another example of how "we" have followed a line of thinking too far past usefulness but it is too late to change now...

EXACTLY my point! Women can and do "appreciate" men's chests in the same way men "appreciate" women's. And just like your "man-boob" comment, there certainly are woman breasts that are not attractive as well. Maybe we would all become a little less superficial if the taboo were removed.
