Just picked up a copy of Rockferry by Duffy. It was just released this week here in the States, but I believe it was out for a while in Europe.
If any of you are in to the retro, 60's blue-eyed soul chick-singer sound, check her out. She's gonna make some noise.
I'm hearing all kinds of comparisons to Amy Winehouse. Same category of music, but a different voice and singing style. Plus I believe she's crack-free.
Anyway, check her out.

i love the song.. just saw the video of her hit on vh1 this morning... nice sound.

cute girl but she sounds identical to Amy Winohouse. I dont know why but that music is just not attaching to me.

I like her song, Mercy. I thought it was Amy W. at first...yeah, I really like that 60s sound that I grew up with.

She's very good and moving up the charts. And she isn't a trainwreck like Amy W. (whose producer pulled her from the new 007 theme song...how messed up IS she?).
Adele is in a similar vein and pretty good, but will not make much a splash here in the States because she is a larger woman...

It is lame. She has the pipes. But I still think the US is incredibly superficial when it comes to it's "stars" and "celebrity".
