I had decided not to see Journey this summer even though I had never missed a tour since I was about 16, but I heard some of the new stuff and said ok I will give it a try. I checked at the Verizon center in Noblesville, In and what did I find? Weeks later after the tickets went on sale there were still prime seat in the lower pavillion. I thought ok it was meant for me to go and then I saw the ticket prices and went HOLY FUCK!@!@! With ticketmasters fees included they were $145.00 a piece. Just who does Journey think they are? If this was a tour with Steve Perry maybe I would fork it over but come on this is just a regular tour with an unknown singer. What is this craziness???? Hell gas prices are killing me as it is and then pay this much for 1 ticket? I feel like Journey is sticking it to us once again. What did we do as fans to deserve this except love their music? I know it costs them more to tour than it did the last few years but for prices to triple, I don't think so, and yes I did see them just last year with Jeff and only paid about $60 for lower pavillion seats. By the way it was an amazing show just as good if not better than with each of the other Steves. I have loved Journey since I was a teen and have been loyal thru all the changes but this is really making me end my love affair with them. They are just corrupt money hungry pigs!

I hear ya, but it's all about the free market. If you love them, you'll pay up.

Indy is a CheapTrick/Heart/Journey show and triple bills usually do go for higher prices. I doubt Journey makes any more money at the end of the day than if it was Journey + one band. It looks like they are going to the higher prices for the premium seats and than discounting the lawn dramatically.

Nashville and Birmingham are just Journey + CheapTrick and the best tickets are $76 & $75.

Don't forget, there are 3 bands on the bill and they all share the proceeds. Have you checked ticket prices for other major acts this summer? All considering, I think the Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick package is pretty reasonable. How much do you think it costs these bands to haul all their shit from city to city with the price of fuel now? Think about it for a minute...

I get that there are three bands performing, but if you really aren't into one of the other bands (for me, it's Cheap Trick), then I can't see paying that kind of coin for just this incarnation of Journey + Heart. I can see paying bigger bucks to see maybe the Eagles or somebody of that calibur. I can't see paying to see a dilute Journey that won't even be on stage that long, considering there are two other bands performing.

The Police (w/ Elvis Costello) in Houston = $232.00 + service charges

I too only want to see Journey so I feel ripped off price wise.

The Police to me are a reunion tour so I guess if you really liked them and they have not been out there for about 20 yrs it would be worth it.

I did just see Van Halen in it's new form and I did pay $150.00 for them but I was in the 5th row and I just had this fear that it would be the last tour for Eddie so I took that into account when I payed for those tickets.

I guess I need to just deal with the rising prices of everything but Journey is going to have to deal without my dollar till they make it worth my while or take into consideration how the economy is affecting our play money.

I agree. There is no way in HELL these guys (ANY of the three bands) should be charging these kinds of prices. It's ridiculous.

THAT BEING SAID- could high fuel prices be contributing to this??? Just a thought...

lets see... journey gets a cut...ann and nancy wilson get a cut, cheap trick gets a cut... gasoline prices for the semis will get most of the cut!!!

Then explain to me how Warped Tour tickets are under $50 and there's a dozen bands on the bill. Or countless other tours with a headliner and one or two openers. Journey is only more expensive because the fans are older and are seen to have more disposable income. If it was three bands with the same gear playing the same venues but with an audience of people under 30, I guarantee the tickets wouldn't be more than $50. The only reason it came to this is because old people are stupid enough to keep spending hundreds of dollars on tickets. If people stopped paying, prices would come down.

And while I am also a big Cheap Trick fan, if I'm going to see Journey (or any band) for something over $60 or so, I just want to see that band do it's full 2+ hour set, which obviously isn't going to happen on this tour with three bands on the bill. I do love CT, and have seen them a couple times do their own shows, and I wouldn't mind seeing Heart (since they've dropped most of their manufactured 80's stuff from the set) but on a personal level, I'd feel that show is worth less since each band's set is only a fraction of what it would normally be.

Granted, while I support unions in general, I think they've really screwed the concert experience, in that the show will have to be over by a set time, probably 10:30 or 11:00, which isn't very rock and roll. Otherwise you could have these three bands doing full sets and be rocking out till 1 AM, like it's supposed to be. I really don't think anyone told the Stones or Bruce Springsteen in the 70's that they had to be off the stage by 11.

i like all of these bands, journey are one of my favorite, heart are still a very good live band, and cheap trick are one of the best live bands ever. but 150.00 and 75.00 for pavillion is way to much, to ticket could have been 75.00 and 50.00, ill just get the cheap lawn seats, and have a few 6.00 beers and people watch.
those are reunion type prices.
no where near the quality, but poison tours with some good openers and only charges 35.00 most shows journey could have kept it around 75.00

They buying public set the prices with attendance, we have only ourselves to blame.

I might have thought the same but out here, I checked prices for the Poison/Dokken/Bach gig, same venue as Journey/Heart/CT, about 4 weeks apart. Same lower pavillion seats are about $100 cheaper than the Journey show, and really the target audience is pretty close to the same age range. I mean $125 vs. $49.50 (before fees, etc.) is a big ass difference. (and Poison even has their original singer! )

So if I have to pick between the 2, I'm gonna be yellin' "CC pick up that guitar and talk to me!"
