Here's an interview I did with Jeff recently. It's in the JSS section, but I thought I'd share it with all of you here :)

Out of line. What are you basing that opinion on? I thought it was a great interview. :?

Leave it to our resident douchebag to pipe in about
a pretty, honest and open interview...

Jeff just shows, as always,
that he is one of the classiest, most down-to-earth fuckers
in the biz. I'm sure Jon and/or Neal would just jumped
at the chance to do an interview w/ a fan...

They don't have too. They have the ability to go through major media and reach the masses.

Seriously. I never warmed up to JSS singing for Journey, but I liked that he was so interactive with the fans. He seems like a great guy, IMO.

Oh yea, they've reached the masses over the years...
One of their BEST interviews over the recent years
has been the one Drew did and who do you think
played a big part in making that happen? Hmmmm...

Point is, that is one of the great things about Jeff whether you
loike his music/voice or not; he has remained TOTALLY grounded
and humble, unlike many other guys that have been in the limelight
for 25-30 years.

He's remained totally grounded (and humbled) because his career never got off the ground.

Dude, even when he was singing for Journey , night after night , in front of 20,000 people, he still was the same down to earth guy Ive known for 20 years.
You wanna come here and cause shit, you will get your ass slammed and booted out of here, youve been warned.... I dont expect you to support Jeff , trust me he is fine without assholes like you ,,,,, But I do expect some RESPECT.... You still couldnt come up with ANY explanation in regards to your very 1st comment here. So I suggest either you explain your behavior or shut the fuck up .

I think he is an amazing singer, perfectly suited for them more so than I am. I love Journey, I love Steve Perry, I love those songs, nothing can change that. BUT with that I came to realize in the end, the decision to let me go was better for me than I could have imagined. Journey's fan base or even general audience want the more 80's sounding tenor singer & to continue with them into the future meant years of comparisons &/or snickering that 'this aint Steve Perry'. I don't think Arnel is as much a clone as most say, they said the same about Augeri but the 2 guys couldn't be any further from 'The Voice' as the influences all 3 share are COMPLETELY different. You can tell Arnel is influenced by a LOT of singers & rightly so, which makes him really good. Augeri was more into Plant & Rod Stewart which would have made a better candidate for Black Crowes type material. Of the 3 of us, I was the closest to sharing Perry's influences who were Sam Cooke, the Motown sound, black/soul/R&B from the 60's. So strangely enough, the only one of us who didn't get called a Perry clone had the same soul under the skin!

......and this is why I'm a NEW FAN....LOVE HIS voice!!!!
JSS sounds like a GREAT GUY as well!!!

Don't waste your breath, B.
Tits clearly has an agenda; he's here to bait whenever he
can and bashing Jeff at every turn is just one of his pathetic techniques.

Hey Tits, ever think of trying out for World's Deadliest Catch?
Your bating techniques could actually make you some fat $$$

nanny nanny boo boo :P

thanks for taking the time for us, Jeff, and thanks B for getting him to spill about the release of the new cd. we're anxious but we understand about the timing and the biz and promotion, yada yada. Jeff, you know us sooooo well---the cali gigs will calm us--temporarily anyway.

I guess Jeff saw it coming that the June release date would be delayed. I like to think he scheduled a little something something just for us rabids because he knew we'd be disappointed in a delay. he's just considerate like that!! thanks. I heart JSS.

Tell us about your best and worst musical experience you had the past 25 years.

The best experience is that I simply have it, end of story. I have been blessed with being able to do what I love for a living, a small percentage of people in the world can truly say that. The worst experience is that with the good comes the bad, you learn from it, you prosper from it, then maybe even possibility offer the wisdom to others helping them avoid the many pitfalls of this industry.

I so love this reply!
Thank you Behshad and Sir Soto for this.

Please don't let one little sniveling snob stop you from sharing your self with us.

I don't care if he couldn't hit all the notes, JSS was the best thing to happen to Journey in a long time.

Jeff is a class act - reread that interview. How can he be full of himself when he has the perspective that he does re: Journey - he flat out said Arnel is a better fit because of the tenor voice??? Dang - all Journey had to do was thank him profusely for bailing them out of the tour fiasco that could have been and we would have loved Journey AND loved JSS.

But it takes class and is the mark of a man who is comfortable with himself to say what he did.

You're right - they did. I should have added "thanked him for bailing them out, but not made him a band member". I know his photo was up on the Journey site very quickly as a full member.

They did thank him. It was the hire/fire thing that left the bad taste.

Thanks for catching that! :)

Yes they did do that,,,officially on their website, but I think what she meant is, a simple THANK YOU , on a more personal level,,,over a phone call or something. None of them has talked to Jeff for a year now....

But 99.99999% of the public doesn't know that or probably care for that matter.

Unless I find out that they didn't pay him for every show he did I see no problem with the way he was terminated. If there is more to it than that I'm sure Jeff will seek proper legal counsel and pursue what he feels he deserves.

Naw, it's old news, Dan.
You know the story. Jeff got paid for his services,
probably quite well.
But the fact that he heard about his dissmissal
second, third and fourth hand, with only Ross talking to
him within the last year, just leaves a bad taste in some of
our mouths.

You gotta give Jeff credit for being so mum and professional abou it.
