Did anyone watch this game 7 and catch this. The Hornets were down by about 5 with 50 seconds left and they played the intro to Separate Ways to get the crowd pumped. I was waiting for Final Countdown or something but they chose Journey. Didnt get to hear Steve or Arnel sing because they just played the intro part up until the singing starts and then repeated it over again. It actually seemed to get the crowd going too. Used to hear Separate Ways played at some Indians games i went to about 2 year ago too.

I thought that you were gonna say that they performed the National Anthem or something like that.

The sports venues here in Cleveland play Journey a lot over the PA. They play Separate Ways a lot at Jacobs Field when a pitcher is being taken out of the game.

A few years ago the Indians players used to play Wheel In The Sky after every Indians victory. That season you could always hear WITS playing in the background during post-game interviews.

Here in Knoxville, the UT band director always plays Separate Ways at football and basketball games. I guess he is a big Journey fan.

what is funny is that i noticed that they were playing those songs at Jacobs Field and then later found out that an old friend of mine was the organ player and in charge of the music played during the game.

I spoke with an employee of the Indians a few years ago, and he told me that he was a big Journey and Survivor fan. At the time the guy was in the public relations department I believe.

Actually, before Game 7 of the Cavs Celtics game, i was listening to a local sports radio show hyping up the game here in Cleveland, and one of the hosts said maybe the cavs should have Steve Perry and Journey come and sing Dont Stop Believin before the game to motivate them like the White Sox and the actual host(keep in mind they were being pressed to go to a commercial break so he could have just let this go) interrupted and said, "Actually, Steve Perry isnt with Journey anymore and they have hired another singer from the Phillippines named Arnel Pineda and he sounds incredible. Who knew that I was listening to a real Journey fan all this time!

huh, thats funny, because in most of these scenarios the teams LOST!!! BWHAHAHAHA
Maybe journey music demotiovates them to play and makes them want to dry hump the cheerleading squad instead!!
