My wife's the Bakery Manager at the local Shaw's in Nashua, NH. Two years ago, Steven came in and bought a cake for his dad's birthday. Seems his dad is in an assisted living joint in Nashua right near Shaw's. Unfortunately, she had the day off and missed him. Everyone said how nice he was. Then again last year, he came in again! This time my son was working and got to see him. Asked him if he got his autograph and he said no. Dummy :x

read the book 'walk this way' and steven managed to get clean in 1986 after years of heavy drug use.i've read in the book his ex-manager even sent him to rehab for sexual addictions.well damn if he quit drugs its good he got hooked on something healthy like sex instead of something more dangerous.

I've met the man. It was right after I came through the same situation..he was an inspiration for a lot of what I went through to get well. I actually had a very brief conversation with him about that very subject at a meet and greet.... He will tell you to your face, with every bit of seriousness in his eye, that you can go 20 years sober....and every day is still tempting.....and every day you go to bed without it, is another good day. Personally...I can understand...as I said, having been there myself once.... regardless of the case...if he's there because he HAS a problem again, then good for him for getting it fixed...or because he realized there might BE a problem brewing..good for him for knowing, but we won't know unless he tells us...and if he does, then good for him for facing his addictions. Life can turn around in an instant....

Have had the good fortune to talk to him many times over the last 20 years, and
he is extremely good hearted and a class act.

All the best to him at this time. Hope he gets things resolved.

I don't think there is a worse career for an addict than "rock star". Temptation must be around you constantly. Get well, Steve!
