I got a ticket and was almost arrested today!

Seriously! I was driving through a "residential" neighborhood on my way back from work, with "Run to the Hills" cranked up all the way on my car stereo, and a fucking traffic cop pulls me over, tickets me, and threatens to book me for "disturbing the peace". Sure, it was loud, but it was three in the afternoon! Obviously it's the end of the month and this redneck bastard was way behind on his quotas.

Or Snoop Dogg.

I would go with the Race Card on this one if I were you. No one EVER sees one of those "boom cars" pulled overfor excessive noise, even as the body panels rattle louder than whatever song is playing.

If it would have been faux Maiden with Blaze Blazely you would have deserved prison time.

At LEAST you got the ticket for playing something GOOD. If you would've gotten a ticket for playing air supply too loud, or somethin like that....I would have laughed pretty hard...

You're my hero dude.

I got a warning once. I was blasting "Unchained" by Van Halen.

It was almost too worth it, the cop was talking to me during Dave's interlude... and I was actually on the verge of cracking up at the whole situation.

You know, when I first read your thread topic, I thought you almost got arrested for buying a ticket to the upcoming Journey concert.

Problem is some cops (not all, but some) can develop a 'God' complex. Too many of them abuse their power for petty things. They follow the letter of the law which any judge or attorney will tell you is not what they're supposed to do. The law can't be written to cover every grey area instance. The cops are supposed to use reasonable judgement and decide when a law is being substantially violated. It's called applying the law based on the spirit in which it was intended.

One day, when I lived in Vegas, I was adjusting the breaks on my motorcycle in my driveway. To test it I did a quick drive around the circle of the cul de sac in front of my house and returned to my driveway for further adjustments. The asshole cop who lived all the way at the top of my street, saw what I was doing, got into his police issue SUV and drove all the way to my house to confront me in my own driveway for NOT WEARING MY HELMET during the quick test. He "let me off with a warning". Are you fucking kidding me? Mind you, he was going through a divorce at the time and was losing his house. Think maybe that had something to do with it? Yet that same asshole had the power to give me a ticket, affect my insurance and cost me money.

I'll bet the cop who pulled you over is trying to quit smoking or something. 8)

Nothing wrong with a bit of Blaze. X-Factor and his solo stuff are outstanding.

He should've just given you a ticket for listening to one of the most overrated Maiden tunes.

I think we'd all be wise to avoid potential situations like this, as I have it on good authority that cops (at least in my neck of the woods) are looking to write more citations in order to help pay the cities rising fuel costs. Things that once made John law turn their head the other way (like, unfortunately, a kick ass Maiden tuned cranked to the gills!) are going to result in tickets like the one Mr 7 received today.

Dude they should have given you a reward for cranking a good tune!

Why is it my son gets pulled over for blaring his car stereo while driving, which mind you, only makes noise in the vicinity of any one person for 10-20 seconds tops, but my neighbor can run his fucking leaf blower all fucking afternoon and it's so loud I have to close my windows to hear the TV. Damn laws make no sense sometimes.

It could've been "Breaking the Law" or "Freewheel Burning" by Priest.
