Sunday Morning, June 1

I can finally exclusively reveal that Journey will be the focus of a CBS News, Sunday Morning program story.

CBS were present at the Vegas show in Feb and have interviewed the band and Arnel for the segement and also visited the band this past weekend for a more personal insight.

And for a perspective on Journey's fans, I was also interviewed for the piece. But as of this moment, the DVD of my interview footage is still in US customs and may not make the deadline for the final edit  Bah!

But anyway....regardless of that - a Journey piece will run this Sunday - June 1, on CBS.

Press release expected mid-week.

Damn right. I will be tuning in for sure. The press is really following this incarnation of Journey. Arnel's story has universal appeal. And Andrew, that's too bad about your interview potentially not making it into the show. I hope everything works out.

:?: Any idea how long the segment will be and what time it will air? I'm not normally an early morning person, but I suppose I could get my ass up for this one.

According to the link that Andrew provided, CBS Sunday Morning airs for an hour and a half. So I'm just going to record all 90 minutes and fast forward until the Journey portion.

I used to work Saturdays overnight, gettin' home in time to catch this show. Starts at 7 am Sunday if I remember. It'll be interesting seeing how they're portrayed. This show always has a laid back feel to it so should be complimentary.

Now if it was "60 minutes", the band would be accused of harboring an alien. :D

From melodicrock to "journey expert" :P Congrats! Hopefully customs doesn't treat the DVD like an old lady through airport security....

I will be waiting for "MelodicRock TV"!

I hope your piece makes it through, Andrew. How did CBS know about you?

Thanks for the info, Drew. Shame about the DVD. If it's just a DVD, then it's got to be standard def. I'm surprised you can't digitize it and upload the thing to a CBS server and avoid the whole customs issue altogether.

Thanks for all the comments. I hope it makes it also.

The reporter is an old contact....he loves this site and Journey and is really happy he finally got to do a piece on them.
Reads the message board too :)

Finds that amusing....LOL.

Seems like with the stakes this large, you could catch a boat/plane to Oz and use technology there to send it electronically? That kind of exposure for your site should be worth big money.

Fantastic news, Andrew! Thanks for the heads up and I for one will surely be watching CBS on June 1st.

People are loving this farytale story about Arnel..tis a good thing and great exposure for Journey.

Sucks about your DVD 'tho :x ..fingers crossed customs gets off their rear ends and gets it to CBS in time to air.

Drew, do you know if the reporter sought out Perry for his take on the whole thing ala the GQ interview?

Perry's involvement in this is unknown. Minimal I would think.

very cool drew... we can all be proud next week...i feel kinda stupid now about being so bent out of shape last summer for all the crap that went on...
oh well. At the end of the day it is all about the music and the positive influence Journey has had on us.

I HOPE TO HELL NOT. Perry is NO LONGER IN JOURNEY.
They need to quit referencing him in every friggin' article...
