Here's a just under 5 min clip from Day On The Green. 1982. Even with the subpar quality of the recording, I'm diggin the vibe better than the Houston dvd show. Plus it has TPO/HIL in there.

Musical chemistry just oozed from that band and God damn that fucker could not only sing, but his choices are superb. What an artist with his instrument Perry was.

That was really cool. But...is it me or does Neal's guitar on "The Party's Over" sound way out of tune?

According to the notes from the YT poster, there's footage and a documentary of this concert or maybe of the DOTG event.

Bootleg or not, we seriously need to get copies. :D

Man, I was at every single "Day on the Green" in 1977 and 1978. Then I got married and started having kids - never even saw a single one with Journey.

Man, when I think of all the shows I missed...... :(

Oh, by the way, those "Day on the Green" concerts were $10.50 for the day!!!!!!!

Note: I just watched the You Tube. Oh man. Steve could still hit the high notes, Jon was a nice guy, Smitty was on drums, Ross was Ross and Neal plays like nobody's business.

Now Perry isn't singing, Jon is a twit, Smitty is long gone....but, Ross is still Ross and Neal can still play anyone under the bleachers!!!!! :)

That was such a good video, it was actually painful to watch. As Mellencamp sang, it "hurt so good"! :)

And this is an outdoor stadium (Oakland Coliseum), sits 60,000+ for football. Can't imagine how many for a concert. You can hear the reverb on his voice. Years of singing those songs outdoors would crush anybody.

Like everyone else, I would pay any price to get that dvd. Also, the one from '86 MountainAire which Deano constantly teased us as having but, so far, not delivered.

Sallee, if you know how to get ahold, please advise.

I have the Mountain Aire documentary on an old VHS tape = it was shown on CBS, but not in the Bay Area of all places. My friend in Sacramento taped it for me. You can also see the same documentary in sections on You Tube. I've never seen that entire concert on film, I was about 10 "rows" back, center stage though.

I want the 1982 DOTG DVD, too!

MistieJ, I believe that is the ROR docu made by MTV shown on some late night on CBS. Many fans have that on dvd -- including me. I was talking about an actual boot of the MountainAire concert that Deano says he has. Come to think of it, I think he later qualified by saying he only has it in audio.

Cool, you were there. I have come across several fans on this board that says they were at that concert. Journey(SP) was not even a blip in my mind in those days, hehe.

Getting ahold of an actual video of an entire ROR concert would be like the Holy Grail of Journey memorabilla. Believe me, I have searched high and low, I don't think one exists either. Unless, the Journey guys will one day piece together the filming that was done that year and put it in the stores as a label release.

Ok, here is the scoop....

I couldn't find his whole e-mail address, but I have sent him a message thru a group we both belong to. I will let you know what he says and what his e-mail addy is. I did let him know that there is much interest in this dvd from all of you ( and me too! I don't have this either!). :D

Back in my trading days I got ahold of the following video clips from this concert:

DOA
DSB
Separate Ways
Cain Solo
WCN
Party's Over

I always wanted the full thing but never managed to do it. The clips I have are great, however definitely not in the best condition

Seriously!! I'd kill for a ROR vid. Here is all the '86 footage I personally can vouch for (aside from the official music videos):

CBS Documentary
12/26/86 - Fresno, CA - "Only the Young"
Good Morning America interview
ROR commercial ad
3-4 short MTV "Sound Bytes"
Hard Rock Cafe "Off the Video" Japanese interview

Anyone have anything else?

I myself have paid plenty for bootlegs, Sarah. It's the only way to acquire a few titles in the beginning to do trading. Then, pretty soon, I built up a big collection. Since this title is so rare, I doubt anyone has something this guy wants. It's all supply and demand.
