I am not going to download it but I am hoping this gets it out early. I am willing to bet the leak came from a Wal-mart employee and that some stores have it in the back until tue.... Wal-Mart is on the way home so what the hell...... I want it !!!

Yes, but they could get in a lot of trouble selling it before the day it's suppose to be released. I've worked in stores and tried to get a copy of something before the release date and in no uncertain terms was told NO!

Wal-mart does it all the time by mistake. Those stock people dont give a rats ass most of the time. They see box and they stock it. I will be checking all weekend since it is walking distance from my house plus some great new games came out that my Super funktastic $500.00 video card is waiting to chew on....

I wouldn't worry too much about the torrent links on Google etc. They have had either one or no seeders since the first disc apparently leaked yesterday. No-one is getting the album that way before launch, sloooooooooooooow! I don't see it on rapidshare or megaupload either so I would say if it is a genuine leak its bloody hard to find. Not that I was looking too hard of course! :shock:

Totally. most stores stick by it pretty forcefully too. Walmart though, is big enough to say, "fuck you" if someone called 'em on it. "We have hundreds of companies wanting to take your spot".

Ok, I just talked to a guy that downloaded it and says its a fake. What he downloaded was the preview clips and they just repeat over and over again. Haha ..... Thats what he gets.... Hats off to Journey for keeping it from leaking.. Well I bet it will leak this weekend because some wal-mart stores will have it in the back and someone will sneak one out etc.....

If Journey did their homework, they'd have the album already released for download legally. It amazes me the labels are too stupid to figure out how to release albums before they get leaked. You're not going to stop the illegal stuff, but you can at least offer a legal alternative. I mean, albums can be released online within hours of them being mastered, so why let them sit in a pressing plant for months waiting to be leaked for free? Fucking idiots, all of them.

I think Same Day Release for all formats is the way to go. I miss that whole "totally surprised" feeling when buying a new album because I don't have the discipline to resist listening to samples. GRRRRRR

That doesn't work though. The labels are pissed because they no longer control 100% of the release process. Boo fucking hoo. If they had an ounce of smarts amongst them, they'd start selling the album online the day it's mastered, and basically offer the CD as a bonus when it gets made. Basically "buy the album now, get it to listen to on your computer and mp3 player, and we'll send you the CD as soon as it's done being made." Instead, the album gets prematurely released by people a lot smarter than the record companies.

It's kind of a moot issue since the CD is a dying format, but still...although I don't see myself buying another CD, honestly. I no longer have a standalone CD player and sold about 1,500 discs last month before I moved to Nashville. Just no room for that stuff anymore, unfortunately, when I can fit it all on an external hard drive.
