That is exactly the disc I was going to bring up after Andrew, no doubt, gives Revelation a very
high rating. This will be interesting....

Slurp slurp KA CHING!

I'll stay away from the official thread...but there's no surprise with the review. "Open minded"??? It's obvious to anyone Andrew loves and promotes Journey as much as possible. That's his right..but there isn't anyone who should be surprised by such a review.

Poor Bryan Adams...maybe he should become friends with Andrew. Did Def Leppard ever?

I firmly believe that if Journey dropped a pile of shit, Andrew would be the first to call it a pile of shit.

And what's the NY Times excuse for liking Revelation? You really are funny.

Man Barb, you've hit for the cycle these past few days. Yet another good post to add to your recent track record.

It wasn't the NYTimes. It was one person. So you're funny too. Plenty have liked the other albums as well. This is about what we all knew was going to happen with Andrew.

And just reading it...it got a "good". Wow. Not really good. Not great. Good. But of course I'm just being funny

Oh please.

Andrew tells it like he sees(hears?) it and I've always found his reviews to be informative and trustworthy. I may not always agree with every line but that's the same for any review, its merely someones opinion acting as a guide.

It's no secret that Andrew has already heard and commented on the new Bryan Adams material in this very forum so there really is no point in playing Nostradamus and trying to predict a negative review. What you can guarantee is that the review will be written with honesty and integrity and the album reviewed on its own merits.

In the end its only an opinion and it won't ruin anyones enjoyment of the music.

If you want slurp, slurp ka ching reviewing as you put it perhaps you should head on over to AintItCool.com and read Harry Knowles love letter to the new Indiana Jones movie or just about any other big studio picture.

What, that'd he would enjoy a good new album?

Danger Danger could've put out Revelation and gotten a 97. Bryan Adams could've put out Revelation and gotten a 97. Lil Wayne ft. Soulja Boi could've put out Revelation and gotten a 97.

I can only speak for four songs but everything I've heard from others, points to a big success for Journey.

So you are implying that any reviewer from any signifcant media outlet (ie NY Times) is just ONE person and not meaningful. Then you say Andrew's opinion is worth shit because he's in the tank for Journey.

Here's a thought for you... the new album is actually GOOD and Arnel is a great vocalist. Unbearable for you, isn't it?

You got the "good" right. See my edit

And no..if those guys would have put out Revelation there's no guarantee they would have gotten the same rating.

Would you be happier then if Andrew, whom we all know LOVES melodic rock slates what is frankly an amazing new melodic rock album from the finest exponents of the craft? What the hell would that achieve other than ruin the man's credentials for honest reporting.

The review was purely about the music and would stand no matter the artist.

Wow...why it bothers you so much that I'm just saying it's obvious, is beyond me. Others in the past have disagreed with Andrew- a little bit to BIG TIME. I'm not even doing that here.

You are not a Journey fan anymore, that's why. Everything you post is painted with that brush. I don't think it bothers people as much as it is annoying.

So assuming you have heard it are you saying that you like the new album but would prefer that Andrew gave it a bad review? I must admit that I don't understand your reasoning. I would bloody well hope Andrew would enjoy it as its a fine release. A good album is a good album, regardless.

Wrong. I'm a huge Journey fan ..the one with Steve Perry.
