Just got back from lunch and while walking through Sam's Club they had "many" copies of the Wal-Mart version on sale for $10.72.

That is just an insane price for what you get.

Damn! I could have walked across the parking lot and saved over $1.00!

Rolling Meadows? Lol!!! ...If so, I must head there after work since I'm on my way to Mt. Prospect anyway. I have to get about 3 more copies of this for gifts/and the ceremonial "one I never open".

It is and it isn't... this, The Eagles release among others are the industry's belated acknowledgment that we just weren't going to put up with 10 tracks for $15+ when we could buy them for 99c each or even worse pirate them. Maybe there is hope for the record industry if they actually embrace the changing times. The real insanity is how long it took them to do it, even against the mounting odds of shitty sales, consumer backlash against litigation, and consumer complaints about the overall quality of product (read: shit) the labels were foisting on us. I see most major releases, especially from "legacy acts" being a package bargain deal from here on out, at least until hard copies of music are completely obsolete. And I love it.

Nope--Wheeling. It's right on the border of Wheeling and Buffalo Grove. There's also a Mobil station and a very exciting McDonald's with a playland in the parking lot. Where in Mt Prospect? My mother-in-law lives there.

Right north of Dempster between Busse and Elmhurst below Golf... great area... my second home anymore. Much closer drive from work for me anyways... ick, I was in Schaumburg... now I'm in Hanover Park/Streamwood. Sucks. The Elgin-O'Hare is a parking lot everyday. Wheeling is a decent area though, I wouldn't complain! Alas, the Sam's Club in Des Plaines was sold out... didn't get a chance to go up to Rolling Meadows and the Wal-Mart in Elk Grove was closed, too. No DVD for me. *pout* :P

I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and go to Niles on my lunch break tomorrow.

Omg I hate going in that one. Hate hate hate it.

I'm annoyed. Why? I was almost curious enough to go pick this thing up. I feel sick thinking of giving any of my dough to both Journey and Walmart  but I briefly considered it. I think I may have picked it up already if it weren't for that one disc. That still makes me sick. (not the content itself, but the fact they they did it in the first place)

I seriously can't understand why everyone is so up in the air about disc 2. Nobody got pissed when Kevin Chalfant recorded Journeys greatest hits. It HAD to be done to secure the WalMart deal. WalMart pays the artist a LOT more than going through a label. It was purely a business deal.

Gotcha. My sister-in-law lives right in that area. My mother-in-law is farther north, near 83 and Camp McDonald Rd (near Randhurst mall). I actually live in Buffalo Grove. When they wanted to build a Wal Mart and Sam's, BG officials thought they were too good for a Wal Mart so they let Wheeling annex the land. Wheeling also got a small piece of land on the other side of Lake-Cook Rd, so a Target, Staples, TGIF, Chipotle and Potbelly are all there. People from BG pour their money into those businesses, but we don't get to see any of the tax benefits. It is nice that I can walk to all of those places in less than 5 minutes.
I can't complain about my commute since it's about 10 steps from my bedroom to my office! I just interviewed for a new job. If I get it, my commute will be about 3 miles. I would like to know what is wrong with IDOT. Who ever had that idea that it would be smart to tear up every expressway going to the north/northwest suburbs all at the same time?

Holy cripes! You're not even kidding! I had a hell of a time all through April and May with wanting to kill whoever planned that mess! I don't even take those roads, but since they worked on overpasses on 90 and 294, I'd get caught in lane closures and gridlocked stoplights twice on the same street!! Fortunately, other than the Elgin-O'Hare, I take all city streets to work and it's way faster than getting on any of the express/tollways. Plus my commute clocks in at just under 19 miles, which is why I'm on the warpath to get closer to the city right now. I could cut my drive in half, pay $50 more or so in rent, but save about $120/month in gas. Insane... thank you, Cook county.

You'd better move before the snow starts flying! You ain't seen nothin' until you've commuted in a Chicago winter. I had the opportunity last summer to take a permanent job in Chicago and I turned it down because of the idea of making the drive in the winter. I'm glad I didn't because I pretty much had to take the Edens. On a good day, the commute was 45-60 min. I can only imagine what it is now. Is the train an option for you?

If everything goes well, I'll be moved by the beginning-middle of July. Then my commute will be about 5 miles and 15-20 minutes. I like that MUCH better. I don't blame you for turning that job down. Any of the roads like the Edens, Kennedy, Dan Ryan, Eisenhower, etc all scare me senseless. Not to mention the sheer joy of sitting at a tollbooth on 90 for 2 hours... 2 hours to go 800 feet!!! UGH!

And no, the train isn't really an option. I do live and work within walking distance of the Metra, but they're different lines. I'd have to take 3 trains to get to work. I'd rather just drive than deal with that. :P

Don't you dare say the s-word!! Winter is a lifetime away!

While I live above you guys in southeastern wisconsin, in addition to all your road construction, I have to ask:

WHAT'S UP WITH THE 10% SALES TAX!!! Geez......a little steep???

I thought ours was bad at 5.6% -- it's a good thing that when I go shopping in Illinois, I can have my purchases shipped to my home to save that 10%...

So that explains it! I had never even noticed the sales tax. Hmmph. In VA it was 4.5% I think... certainly makes a difference over time.
